I got the game used and the disc looks perfectly fine. I played it a couple times with no problem. Then a few days ago, I load up the game and it s coming up disk unreadable. All other games work fine.

I went through all of the steps on Microsoft s site but nothing worked. I found instructions for something else that said to clear the system cache. I tried this and it worked fine. It downloaded and installed a system update and then the game itself
installed a small update. And the game loaded and played just fine.

And then I load the game up the next day and we re back to unreadable. After some experimentation, I found that clearing the system cache will make the game work but only once. I must clear the cache every time if I want to play.

Anyone know why it s doing this and what I can do to fix it?

Skyrim no longer loads up:

I had an issue where it would freeze every time I would have to load a new area. What I did was delete the game off of my HDD, clear system cache, reinstall game, boot up, clear game cache. Hope this helps! Did you check for scratches/smudges on your disc
as well?

It removes title updates, and in some cases gamerpictures that are unlocked through game progression. But they would be re unlocked once you play the game. It does not affect DLC, achievements.

That is really strange. I'm not sure what all steps you've tried, but if you haven't already, try installing the game so it isn't reading from the disc, and make sure your console is lying horizontally. I don't think either of these are your issue though.
From what other users have posted on Bungie's forums, it seems like the game's update itself may be the issue. I would copy your post here:

www.bungie.net/.../Help and see if they are able to provide any suggestions.
