Destiny Digital Guardian Edition: Do we get it?

Will the Xbox One get pre-order digital download early enough to enjoy pre-loading the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition or Does the One even get that edition? Wish I could be a part of the beta, but I am going digital on this one.

I'm hoping we see preordering before the beta starts. I have a preorder in at Amazon to at least see the beta, but plan to switch to the digital version when it becomes available.

 

I've done the same as you, Atlasky. It would be disappointing if I have to get a game for the One with a disc, especially Destiny.

I've tried tweeting Bungie, DeeJ, Xbox & Major Nelson about this a few times but haven't gotten any replies yet. As far as I can tell, it's looking like it might not happen, or at least not before the game's launch.

 

I will be honest and say despite my rabid fanboyism when it comes to XBOX the candy coat is starting to crack. First of all you can't preorder downloads on any game, let alone Destiny. So, despite the fact that you have an alternative route to acquire games
XBOX figures let our people who want to go all digital suffer. PS players should get all of the goodies. You want Destiny preordered digitally? PS4 and 3 have it. XBOX One and 360? Fugeddaboutit! September ninth is but a month and a week away and where is
XBOX on this issue? You got me because I haven't seen any official responses from XBOX about this issue at all. They need to be more proactive and start getting out ahead of this stuff. If they do come up with a download scheme it will nine out of ten be too

That is part of the problem. Why should you not be able to preorder, and by extension miss out on goodies, because you decide to go digital and forgo the Gamestop excursion? To me that seems like an extremely limited approach to this. Limited for us that

Insomniac has apparently said that digital pre-orders are coming soon and Sunset Overdrive digital pre-orders even get a special bonus. Hopefully the digital pre-ordering will arrive in time for Destiny.

I've been trying to Xbox and Major Nelson to answer on twitter if the Xbox One is getting the Destiny "DGE" but so far no luck, I'm really hoping it does because I've decided to all digital this gen.

It better also have the Vanguard pre-order bonus.

 

clearly MS is barely even half trying with the Xbox One. Stuff doesn't work more than it does, it's still missing a bunch of stuff the Xbox 360 has, and apparently MS went from having a full DRM plan to having no plan for people that want to go digital only.

It feels like MS has just given up on Xbox, and is just riding out this generation.

 

I think its quite the opposite. Microsoft is rolling out updates monthly to improve the console while Sony hasn't done much since launch in terms of updates.

You can download Destiny as well as any game released on the Xbox One. The question is will we get the Digital Guardian Edition. I'm hoping we hear more about preordering/preloading at Gamescom.
