Destiny beta

I really hope they're putting a bit more polish on the X1 version other than just upping the resolution.

It looks decent enough, but not a patch on the version on that other console.

(this isn't me trolling or "having a go" at xbox btw, just sharing my thoughts)

I jest, apart from the resolution which you can see in the still images (beta issue) im pretty sure its exactly the same. In fact the 360 ps3 versions arent terrible. Destiny isnt exactly the next gen visual extravaganza i was expecting anyway, exactly what
i'd expect from a cross generation title.

Now this may have been mentioned: why did Bungie (desperate to get out of making halo) sign up for making a Halo MMO-lite for the next 10 years?

Not that its a bad thing, but generic soldier no.40234234 vs master chief is less interesting.

Only thing I am upset about is that PS4 get the exclusive stuff first but as we know last gen we were quite lucky with a lot of the exclusives being on the 360.

Just the level of detail and the quality of the lighting/shadows... it's a personal preference thing I suppose.

The X1 crushes the hell out of blacks and comes off looking more gawdy for it (in my humble opinion)... you can see it pretty well in the image comparison Major Haphazard linked to above. It doesn't bother some people, but it irritates me. Some people can't
even tell the difference, but I prefer walking into a dark area, such as a cave, and being able to see the detail of the rocks as opposed to that crushing blackness.

There also seems to be a lot of strobing of the light as you move behind objects.

There's a whole bunch of other stuff graphically that's not as good, but that's down to the lower resolution. I know some will argue there's no noticeable difference between 900p and 1080p, but if the 2 betas currently available are anything to go by there
really is. I ran both versions at the same time yesterday while flicking channels between the two and with my character stood in the exact same spot and it was like someone had smeared Vaseline over my screen when I flicked to X1 (a slight exaggeration maybe,
but you get the point).

I'm also guessing the X1 beta is an earlier build that's had less fine tuning graphically than it's PS4 counterpart.

I took the day off yesterday and spent pretty much the whole day playing on X1 and by the end I'd stopped noticing the differences, a testament to the gameplay to be sure....

(don't forget folks, these are just my observations, opinions and preferences from running/comparing both versions for myself and I'm not slandering your parentage, threatening to shoot your dog or belittling your own views/thoughts... feel free to flame

Thanks dude. I just posted there. I love it. Its really awesome. This is likely going to be a game that I get the season pass for, if they put one out. It takes a lot to get me to invest in DLC.

@Floppy the black crush is due the upscaler. When the game launches it will be 1080p so there will not be any black crush it will look the PS4 version.
