Destiny Beta

I'll remember people who didn't like the "Destiny Beta".

These are people who at the very worst simply have no clue what they're talking about and at the very best have nothing to offer me in terms of advice on games.

 

Who said they did not like the beta???

Sometimes, Walk-ins are the best people.

At first, I thought maybe it was only me that noticed the similarity. Then Other people started to play.....

Some folks even think competative play will be impossible.... Then again it's just a Beta/ Demo version.

Clone maybe a harsh word to use... Bungies new IP borrowing from Halo may be a better term. Or Boarderlands/ The Halo edition..... Be as Hardcore as you want.

 

That's it. Back away from the statement slowly. It sounds like the "Titanfall is a COD clone" argument. Destiny comes closer to cloning Star Wars than Halo. Speeders. The ships look like A-wings & Prequel Jedi fighters. The whole Light/Dark thing. Did you
try the Warlock build? Force Push. Your words carefully you should choose. About the only thing that was cloned was Guilty Spark and the Didact's Ship. Double Jump....not in any Halo I've played. (Check my history). Loot...not in Halo. No competitive play?
Good, too much of that MLG crap anyway. You could even say it clones Doom. Y'know Guns, Aliens, Armor.

Yes, Doom/ Wolfenstien are the bases for every FPS ever made. I already said Clone may have not been the right wording.

I'm still confused about why I'm the bad guy... Again I'm not even the first person in this thread to say the same thing.

Light/ Dark Fable did that on the original Xbox Did you really say the jumping in destiny is not like Halo??? Maybe I misunderstood..... How about the weapons... What say you ? Anything even close in both games?

Don't get mad at me--- Bungie decided to give this Demo to everyone-- Including the preorder folks.

I do agree about MLG being crap Many tryhards will argue about Destiny and Halo

 

halo recharge? you're comparing regenerating health in destiny to halo?

fable did light vs. dark, so destiny must've copied them? well now, since that's such an original concept never seen in any other piece of media, i guess you must have a point...

the double jump/thrusters aren't close enough to halo reach to make that argument. plus a ton of other games have jet packs and thrusters as well, so...

weapons are different as well, though i guess i can maybe see some basic resemblance to the dmr and br in a couple scout rifles...but other games have done similar looking guns too, so there's that...

how many more straws would you like to grasp at?

 

Well it's a Bungie game ... Indeed the Jump boost is Not like Halo reach--- More like Halo 4 or 3.

how is double jump like halo 4 or 3? halo 3 had a fairly high jump, but really nothing that acted as the jump mechanics in destiny. halo 4 i think was toned down from halo 3, and not a bungie game, so you can't really use that argument.

 

Not only can you point out similarities in all video games, there is no such thing as an original idea anyway. All ideas are based off something before it. I could say all music sounds the same. Why does everyone insist on continually using instruments?

I thought it felt more like Borderlands than Halo, and it only felt slightly like it. Everyone has different opinions. If it was that much like Halo, I could just play it instead of looking forward to the MCC or even Halo 5.

 

There's always going to be similarities in FPS games. I can't say I saw many similarities to Halo in Destiy as I rarely played any of the Halo games, but all I can say is I had some fun with the beta. That's all that matters right? Who cares if it's similar
to Halo, a game like this is going to be similar to some FPS out there anyways.
