Destiny Beta

It's not a clone. Play the demo/beta first. They keep borrowing ideas from lots of places, but a Halo clone it is not.

 

I am enjoying the beta might pick it up, loving the sniper rifle

 

So your sying it's not a Halo clone??? Have you played it??? Besides the tower (borrowed from fable) the game play is indeed a halo clone. Why do think this "BETA" was given to everyone.. Activision/Bungie Knows this is just the warm up for Halo

Anyway, I'm loving this game! Because of it, I will be getting my X1 in September as opposed to November when Unity was set to come out.

 

Like I said, Halo/ Gears of war with a dash of Borderlands and fable...

I was not impressed... Seems like another FPS... Sorry if that offends you. It's not a bad game by any means.. I never said that.

IT will make millions and set records..... It just more of the same IMO.

 

Definitely not a Halo clone. Similar art style, but doesn't play the same at all.

 

please be a troll, because the words that you wrote make no sense. in what ways is destiny like halo, gears of war, or fable? i'll give you borderlands, but that's about it.

 

I felt like I was playing Halo Reach when playing the beta

 

I strongly disagree with BongKoas.

The reason being is I didn't feel like it was a 'Halo clone' because it was more of a Bungie feel than a Halo to me. It's just like how most Valve games feel very similar, even Bethesda games all feel the same.... Using your logic, fallout is a clone of
the elder scrolls series....

I wouldn't even care if you said it was a bad game, but your opinion is just lazy (imo)

 

it does have elements of halo there, but has it own way of play, it draws me in like halo does and that is what I look for, a game that keeps my attention, so first day buy for me.

 

I played the beta over the weekend on the 360 and to me it seemed *very* Halo-ish. Instead of a Cortana with us, now everyone has a Halo Spark (Ghost) with them and we play Master Chief in a different looking suit

I enjoyed it but the controls, motion, visuals etc. seemed much like Halo; that's not a bad thing. I was surprised though that it was available for the 360 as I thought it was a next gen release only. Yay!

I must point out even major game sites have said "Bungie made another Halo without making Halo"-- That's an IGN quote

The opening sequence is the EXACT same hallway with a different skin as Halo 4. If anything I thought Gears would be the game you all disagreed with. Someone said they would give me Borderlands but, Disagreed with halo... Are we playing the same game???

Just another decent FPS Not a reason to buy a console.....

 

do you have a link to the article, not saying i don't believe you just that i don't really want to dig through the site for one thing...but i'm gonna take a guess and say that "Bungie made another Halo without making Halo" was to be taken as "this game is
an awesome new space opera from bungie" not "they reskinned halo".

the opening sequence was just generic "get the player used to combat and controls" that you see in just about every other fps today...while trying to show off new lighting on next gen.

can't say if we were playing the same game, probably not the same class, but it sounds like you took a game you wanted it to be and couldn't see anything else.

 

In fact I thought Destiny was an RGP like Final fantasy before I played it. I had high hopes and went in blind Not even knowing it was a shooter---- Say what you will but all they did was release a cleaver Demo.....

Search youtube for Halo Vs Destiny---- Compaire the lack of similarity yourself. Side by side of the opening sequence

Like I said just another FPS ... I NEVER SAID THAT WAS BAD. Just not what I expected from all the hype. Bungie does one thing very well.... Sticking to what they know makes money.

I liked what I saw in the beta. It has a mix feel of Halo + Borderlands in its own way. I especially like the MMO aspects *Different players around when you're playing a story mission/free roam + the random players while at the
tower* if you can call them MMO like features.

PvP will probably be something I will avoid unless I'm playing with friends, but it was alright. I didn't see anything really groundbreaking from what the beta provided IMO.
