destiny beta numbers

The Destiny beta was a beast, with Activision announcing today that 4,638,937 players participated in the early access stress test of the game launching September 9.

"Hosting a beta at this scale is an incredible feat, so we're thrilled to see the phenomenal response. But the beta is just a taste of what's to come," said Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg. "This is the biggest beta of this console generation by a
wide margin and the largest console beta ever for a new video game IP to date."

Where is everyone online???

Well, if you were checking your numbers while the Destiny beta was happening, over 4 million people were apparently stress-testing that...

Very surprised at the low number considering it was available on 4 platforms.

 

Yeah, I was expecting a much, much higher number than this. Especially the amount of buzz generated by it.

 

That's just the amount of people who logged in at the designated time to do the stress test. Not the total number of people who played the beta.

 

The amount of people who complained they had to work/sleep in the bungie forums about the stress test time, could power a small country, so I am sure the sales figures will be higher.

 

That's a pretty good number to me, especially for a beta.
