Destiny: 2014 Game Of The Year

^ yes in ryse and lots of other games you kill lots of people. But your not killing the same people in the same place because of the same bounty that you got yesterday and the day before and the day before that. The amount of times i killed that guy that
comes out of the wall was insane. And why you bring forza into it i do not know. Its a racing game. And theres so many different cars/tracks/ types of races that it has a hell of alot more content then destiny and has kept my interest for alot longer

 

Destiny is more repetitive than most games, most games you're not going back to do the exact same thing over and over again, i played Ryse, made it about half way through a second play through, and then it was boring, never played a COD campaign more than
once, Destiny is boring to me because you're doing the same missions over and over again, enemies spawn in the same places at the same time, the new DLC takes you to the same places again.

Sunset Overdrive is more deserving of GOTY for the simple fact that its DLC takes you somewhere new.

but i also think that part of the reason some many people are hating on Destiny is because Azrael008uk is trying to pass off their opinion as fact, but they love the love, best game ever, that's fine, but a lot of people like me bought into the hype and
Bungie did not deliver what they were selling before release.

in hindsight, before launch i kept wondering why everyone was just failing over themselves for Destiny, but the whole time i was like "this just looks like a prettier version of Defiance" and i did not understand the hype, now that i think about it, i think
Defiance was actually a better game for what it was.

 

For everyone who hates "Destiny" there are millions more of us who love it.

At the end of the day... we win.

 

As Boas says all games are essentially the same, but Boocar nails it, you play a game you move on. In Destiny you just grind the hamster wheel in the hope RNGesus is good to you. It was fun while it lasted and the mechanics and delivery of it were great
but in the end you can only do the same thing over and over so many times. I loved Ryse and have played it through three times, I doubt I will play it again though (never say never) although I will jump in the MP arena again with you Boas cos you wear those
pants so well! (happy to jump in with you Unreal if your reading as well, even though you will be wearing the basic underpants as a level 1)

 

Zero Defiance was definately a better game than Destiny, managed the MMO thing much better, had ties to the TV series and I enjoyed it, had some good times playing with Boas and Az and others from the forums. If it was on the One and the updates were
more manageable it would be a blinder.

 

Why can i not bring Forza into it? its a game isnt it?

forza has cars/tracks, destiny has missions, strikes, raids whats the differnce?

Most games these days you end up doing the same thing over and over. Its what gaming is.

the difference with games like Forza and FIFA is that you will not experience the same game twice, your opponents (AI or PVP) will act differently every game, Destiny doesn't have that in the main game, spawns are the same, AI actions are predictable and
don't really stray from their path, boss fights are the same.

i did jump on Destiny lastnight to see what the gift was and a friend was playing, so i jumped in, we did the daily strike, something i haven't done in about 2 months, running through the caves and without even thinking about it, i threw a grenade, and for
a moment i though i accidentally threw it, no, muscle memory it seems, turned the corner and i fried a bunch of Thrall that were there waiting for us.

again, i'm happy that so many people are enjoying, but i wanted the game Bungie hyped and i haven't seen it yet.

 

Play crucible then, each game will differ? But the MP on Destiny is the same (crucible) each match will be different. Now if i go and play AC Black Flag again the enemies will be in the same position, the levels will be the same, the dialougue will be the
same.

As said i understand why alot of people don t like destiny. What i dont get is when people say 'I played 100 hours but the game has no content' or 'Destiny i just shooting things over and over'

 

i think the Crucible is pretty good, and have no complaints against it, my only complaints are with the campaign.

and i understand why people put so many hours into Destiny, the gameplay is solid, and playing with friends can really make it so much better, but it is still not what Bungie was saying it would be.

 

I did have a few goes on The Crucible, couldn't get into it but to be fair there's not many PvP MP games these days that hold my interest mainly because in my opinion they all feel very similar.

Like Zero said above, Destiny is a solid game especially when played with friends but the talk we heard from Bungie before the game was released had people, well me at least that this was going to be something HUGE and EPIC, well I guess it was for loads
but not for me.

As I've said before, I was hoping/expecting coming from Bungie there was going to be something very special story wise and once finished I thought I'd be chomping at the bit for the next instalment but to this day I still struggle to understand the story
if you can even call it that, so so disappointed here.

Again though it was a solid game especially in co-op but before too long ( for me anyway ) the Strikes, Daily bounties got very tedious indeed, just turned into a grind fest, just needed a lot more content, variety and like above, not what Bungie said it
was going to be, no where near it.

 

its just so bloody BORING i really am struggling to see what anyone can really enoy in the game, its so dull dull dull
