What Xbox One Game Slapped You In The Face This Year?

This year every game sucked, one way or another. Titanfall, Destiny, Watch dogs, Wolfenstein, Assassin creed, Call of duty, Fifa/NHL and so on. Big hype and no actual value for money, just empty promises. Destiny makes fine example, game was cut pretty badly,
and rest of the original game is sold for DLC. BF4 and GTA V are by far, the best games, and they were released 2013. I also know that BF4 was horrable at the start, but now it works fine. 2014 is worst game year ever, i hope next year we have better and interesting
games.

 

Dragon Age is easily GOTY. 95 hours played and didn't notice any bug's or glitches.

Far Cry in 2nd.

Destiny........ lol.

 

I would've picked Titanfall for G.O.T.Y.. By checking Gamespot it would appear only 3% are with me. Lol. According to their poll only 3% picked Destiny for the honor; which is even more sad, since Destiny was multi-platform.

For me its DAI. Destiny, while being my second(after DAI) most anticipated game of the year, didn't even break my top 5. I'd put Shadow of Mordor, South Park: TSoT, Infamous Second Son, and Wolfenstein ahead of it just off the top of my head.

 

Ha, no way. Wolfenstein still sits on top for me. FH2 in second place followed by Sunset.

 

All brilliant games to be fair.

The closest one mentioned so far to having a shot at pipping "Destiny" for GOTY would be "Wolfenstein" which only falls short for it's limited lifespan, and even then that doesn't stop it from being something you'd go back to again and again.

 

After reading over page 1 of this thread, I have to ask.

Are people dissing Destiny simply because Bungie left M, and gave esclusive to S?

 

No one is dissing anything, they're simply offering their opinion, in a friendly and open manner.

 

Well after playing it solidly since Christmas Day my GOTY is Far Cry 4. The game just delivers on every level. Outstanding living breathing world environments, varied missions which keep you interested and the sheer volume of colectibles is daunting at
first, but the collectibles are all at locations that are varied and lovingly crafted which actually keeps the incentive to go and find another one. Its a game you can persue the missions or just spend time in the world hunting, climbing, rambling just watching
the random stuff that happens. Just when you thought you had seen it all someting surprises. Im only half way through after about 50 hours of gameplay but I absolutely love it which is wierd as I didnt rate FC3 very highly.

 

@Electro. I think you are just being daft with that comment.

A lot of people don't like Destiny because it was simply a huge let down..... Nothing more, nothing less.

 

Completely agree with Genchy's description of "Far Cry 4".

Absolutely brilliant game.

Had it been an orignal IP and not a more polished version of "Far Cry 3" (which is a compliment to the game not a criticism) then it would have been a very difficult to choose between "Destiny" and "Far Cry 4".

The "Auto Drive" feature they added has to be one of the most useful things I've seen put in a video game since the introduction of a "Quick Mute" feature.

 

^ Yes auto drive is great until you forget about it as you reach for a cuppa, beer, whatever and it drives straight into an enemy outpost! DOH! Didnt do that again......

 

Not just a great feature. A necessary one.

You watch it scoot you round those cliff edges and think "Yeah, I can totally do this" and take over the controls yourself and then gun the engine and you're flying without wings... and then dying without wings.

If we ever end up doing local Co-op we might have to get Mrs Azrael to drive again.
