Destiny 2 Unplayable on Xbox PC App But Not Steam

I've been playing Destiny 2 on Steam with no performance issues on high graphic settings, but just got the Xbox Game Pass and replaced Destiny 2 through the Xbox App instead. However, the game is noticeably slow and glitchy upon launching into menus, and in loading into actual gameplay is unplayable due to constant screen tearing and lag. I've tried downgrading all the settings to the lowest quality, turning off VSync, lowering the resolution, and updating Windows and device drivers. The game is even installed in the exact same location as the previous copy of Destiny 2 through Steam, and nothing changed on my computer in the 2 hours between last playing the Steam copy of Destiny 2 and starting the Xbox App copy for the first time.

Any idea why the same game is only working through the Steam launcher, and what I can do to fix this?

As per your description, you have saved the game on the same location where it was installed using Stream. We will be asking for few questions and kindly provide us details.

May we confirm, if the PC System Requirements for the game is met? Destiny 2 on PC System Requirements?

Do you have a no error NAT Type Connection?

You can check your NAT type in Windows Settings:

Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the main screen.
Select Settings > Gaming, and then select Xbox Networking.
Under Xbox Live Multiplayer, check the NAT type.

If your NAT type is not Open, see Troubleshoot audio in parties and issues with multiplayer games on Windows 10 for help troubleshooting NAT.

Is the Game Mode turn on in your PC Settings? Go to Settings > Gaming > Game Mode.

destiny 2 is not available in the microsoft store on pc, it is available on steam/stadia etc, if its not on the microsoft store for pc it aint coming to gamepass pc due to licencing.

destiny 2 and dlc is only available on the console side of gamepass.

You can download Destiny 2, and it's DLC from the Xbox app on PC. So your friend who plays on Xbox and PC can play Destiny 2 and the DLC you gifted him on the PC, as long as the PC he has is powerful enough for the game.
