    Sorry for the book entry but i wanted to include as much details as possible .

    "Installation stopped" advisory while trying to download Destiny 2 update.

    Originally downloaded game from xbox store in Jan 2018. Download continually stopped at 81% with "installation stopped" advisory. Try to restart and after about 15 seconds and same advisory. Tried all ideas from internet and xbox support chat.

    1. Clear download and restart from begininng.

    2. Clear local game saves

    3. Restart console with hard shutdown.

    4. Reset console settings to factory.

    5. Restart router ( i use an ethernet cable)

    6. Clear cache

    7. Told to contact Bungie about the download which is impossible. You can only go on their forums and work with people like this group to find a solution. All solutions similar to above.

    Nothing worked. Xbox live gave me my money back from the digital download.

    Fast forward to April, I bought the disc and tried again. Disc downloads fine to the console, but the required update freezes at 45% with "installation stopped" advisory.

    Here we go again.

    1. Uninstalled and reinstalled. 45%

    2. Reset to factory (including games, apps and saves, clean slate) and did not setup or sign in with my current email or xbox live account. Used a new email but didnot sign up for xbox live. Basically a fresh from the store, never had an xbox live account
    start.

    Still stops at 45%. Something in the update does not agree with my console. I am out of ideas at this point. Only happens with this game.

    I got this trying to install the Expansion Pass for Destiny. It gets to 100% and then says "installation stopped"

    Game Download - Intsallation Stopped

    Recently purchased the Call of Duty IW + Destiny Collection Bundle. The COD IW downloaded with no problem. The COD Modern Warfare and Destiny games stopped. Received error code - 0x8b050066. However, Microsoft/Xbox does not recognize code.

    The error states - "Installation Stopped," and refers you to xbox.com/errorhelp.

    Any suggestions??? Thanks.

    I've got over 1TB free space on xbox one. I've tried installing it through a different network and it still stops and then freezes the xbox up on certain parts. All other disc games install perfectly well. It's just this one that doesn't. Even Destiny
    2 installs fine
