Destiny 2 Deleting itself for every update PC GAMEPASS

My Destiny 2 installation for PC Gamepass has been deleting itself for every single update. Any time it just happens to need an update, it completely reinstalls the entire game. All 99GB of it. It pisses me off every time I want to get on for a bit or with some friends and I have to say "can't play, game is reinstalling the entire thing again."

Would like to know if anybody else is having this issue as well or if it is just me? Is there a common fix?

Some details:

- Windows 10

- Game is installed on an HDD, but this has been happening regardless of what drive I put it on, SSD or HDD

- Every update it has an "install error" but doesn't give any details, eventually just defaults to deleting the entire game anyway

- Windows (private network) firewall is off, so that's not the problem

- Other games update on Gamepass perfectly fine

- Other games installed from other stores launch and update perfectly fine

- Auto update is off

Anybody know what is going on so I can not have to miss another Destiny 2 session with the boys? Thanks.

Incorrect. They removed Destiny 2 and subsequent expansions from the console version of Gamepass. They are still freely available on Gamepass for PC.

You can play destiny 2 the base game as it is free but not the expansions as it is no longer included with gamepass

They removed it back in November after halo infinite launch

I am currently having to download the complete game again. I'm absolutely fuming. This is the first time this has happened and I play destiny 2 almost everyday.

Game pass for pc is a joke.

It's gamepass, not bungie or your computer so don't listen to that nonsense. I had this problem yesterday with Everspace 2 redownloading the whole game after needing an update - the day after i first downloaded it. I have a metred connection and used half my gb allowance for it, not to mention download speeds here are about 700kb/s max so it takes all night. I went down a rabbit hole searching forums and this has clearly been happening for years, with no effort to address it by Microsoft, so every response from them that doesn't just say that is disingenuous. They will tell you to redownload windows, contact the game publisher etc but it's just misdirection. I'm going to cancel gp and just stick to Steam, I'd rather wait for sales than deal with the frustration

Hey man. I may have solved it. Check where your games are being saved as in the folder. I believe my game pass did an update and for some reason it's now created a new default folder called c:/xboxgames where as before it just saved to the c:drive. I believe by changing this folder it has messed it up.
