Despite developer claims - confirmed level cap is 70.

Just confirmed today that there is indeed a level cap for xb1 players and I am assuming all other platforms unless PC console commands are used. Despite statements from CD Projekt Red's Mamot, after hitting level 70 I was no longer able to use repeatable
bugged quests and my xp bar sat at 0/2000 @ lvl 70. Previously, I could kill any mob at any level and gain 1 xp per kill... after hitting 70 neither the level 30 cyclops (the farmable one) nor anything else was yielding xp. On a separate note, some quest rewards
and many lootable items do scale with level so there is some reward with the additional levels. I found one quest relic silver sword for instance at level 57 with approximately a 739 dps stat on it... sadly there is no monsters that scale remotely close and
even playing since level one the game has become ridiculously easy after level 20ish (even prior to using exploits). Looking forward to lvl 100 in future content and hopefully a patch to introduce some some additional contracts that scale beyond 35. Happy

That is the only information that is available at this time.

 

Why is there really a need to go beyond level 70? The game can't have infinite levels. It is designed to cater to the average player that would typically be done probably way before reaching 70. And if it's too easy, take off all your armor, remove your
power ups and use some cheap mace or something to fight with.

Personally, I don't see the point. This is more of an adventure game with a focus on story, it's not Mortal Kombat.

Lol, I find it funny that you're complaining about being over powered since lvl 20 but still felt the need to use bugged quests to level up your character, and you want them to increase the level cap to 100. I cant imagine anybody playing the game being
able to reach the lvl70 cap without cheating.

 

yrag86, Your email to me is off base and addressed to the wrong person. I haven't complained about any leveling issues. I have only had concerns about technical problems with Xbox one and Witcher 3.
