  1. Desired update to Media Player

As I've just recently used the media player app on the Xbox One, I've come to notice that the app will only continue to play music if it's in snap view. In a future update I hope that you can unsnap the app and still have music playing in the background.
I also want the music to continue playing as I leave the folder to look at my other music, and to even control game/music volume levels. Thanks!

    :)

  3. Playing A Video

Do you happen to know why my m4a music files will play on Windows Media Player and Media Center, but not through the Music Library? I have the "Optional Media Update"...

That would be a great feature and why it wasn't even thought about when they made the media app is mind boggling.

background music in game is a thing of the past now, they would not be ble to sort that with an app, that kind of thing need to be integrated into the system for that to work and the games need to support it from the start, so I can happily tell you now
we will never see that feature.

I cannot believe that I have paid £300 for something that doesnt do what the old outdated version did

    please fix this

I should not lose features when I "upgrade"

An app should be able to run in the background. If the system doesn't currently have the ability then it's definitely something that can be programmed in with an update. It's just a matter of whether they decide it's worth the effort. Considering that 8
year old last gen systems and the PS4 have this ability, I can't imagine that it's that difficult.

Person above is post is right. If you can also have party chat running without the snap menu open it shouldn't be too much of an issue to implement.

I'm sure they'll improve the Dashboard over time. Just look at how much the Xbox 1 Dashboard has improved since launch, you can even change the background, friends tab, bios/location on your profile are back. You could also try listening to music from your
phone or computer. When Xbox 1 came out, it didn't support USB video and USB picture files, now it does. I guess with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, it is kind of like this Snap thingy, and since the Dashboard style does look like Windows 8. I heard Windows 10
will be coming out to PC's late next year. Maybe they'll have made more improvements then, to copy it to the console. In Windows 10 it sees the return of the Start Menu which Windows 7 has and can change the background. Microsoft has received no doubt a lot
of feedback regarding the OS functionality and UI, between Xbox 360 Xbox 1 and Windows OS.

  10. I'd be glad if it was able to resume where I left off after closing the app. I don't always watch a video start-to-finish, so it would be nice to simply pick up where I left off.... Right now I have to write down when I stopped watching and fast forward
to the same place next time... or simply power up my 360 and watch videos on there.... That should've been an included feature from the start.

  11. what i've also noticed is that it just continues to play through ALL my media..even with my xbox one set to power down when not in use..that means if i fall asleep during a movie my xbox one is on throughout the night..it should do something like netflix
where after a movie or 2 it asks you if your'e still there and if no response....wow it shuts down and saves power/console life. Basic key features are being overlooked with this system...i think a circus clown runs this show.

I've been saying this since day one! Games like forza 5 and magic 2015 have AWFUL sountracks and in the past i could just use the USB media player to play my own music over it and actually enjoy my game woth some proper tines. Now, i either have to sit in
silence, play woth this abomination of a media player snapped to the side of my screen the whole time, or use a seperate stereo from my TV which has the best set of speakers in my house......

PLEASE MICROSOFT... FIX THIS OVERSIGHT NOW

I like to see it also run media files from disc. That's my only real complaint with it to be honest.

My stereo is in the same room as my One, so it's easy for me to play music from that while gaming.
