Design Labs X1 controller RS not functioning properly after a few months of use

My controller's RS has stopped properly working and is most noticeable in shooters. The Y axis is not responding while the X axis is so basically I can look side to side but cannot look up or down. Another strange thing is that when scrolling menus either
in a game or at the dashboard, one gentle flick of the LS or the d pad in any direction scrolls 2-3 options at a time.

Here are some steps I have taken to try to fix, either taken upon myself or at the suggestions of online chat:

I have updated the firmware of my controller

I have reconfigured my button mapping to default and performed a "factory reset"

I have tried using the controller in 3 different games: Rocket League, Metro Exodus, & Borderlands 3 all with the same effect

I've googled the issue and could only find answers regarding stick drift

I am at a loss here and the warranty for these controllers are 90 days which of course, I am beyond. For a near $100 controller, I expect longevity - despite my poor experience with the Gen 1 X1 Elite Controller. Does anyone have any suggestions, outside
the box or not?

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue with a Design Lab controller. Based on your post, it seems you've done quite a bit of troubleshootingso far and at this point, it would be best to request a repair/replacement for it.

Design Lab controllers have a 120 day warranty (4-month from date of purchase) as they are a custom item, so I'd recommend that for the best results, you
contact Xbox Support by requesting a chat or call back so that they can get you set up.

Chat support said 90 days, you say 120 days so which is it? You think the next gen controllers will have enough confidence behind them to have a real warranty and to be able to register them on your account? This is unacceptable for $92.95, even if it
was custom. Don't even get me started on the elite controllers...

The warranty on a design lab is 120 days, which is 4 months of warranty. The 90 days is on a standard controller. Sorry for the miscommunication there. So if it is over the 4 months unfortunately it would be a replacement.
