Design lab costume Xbox one controller how to open with rubberized grips.

So I've been trying to open the custom controller to add a replacement part and clean the interior but I don't see how to open it with rubberized grips at least without tearing the seals of the grips. My right grip is already starting to fall off even
though I've had this controller for less than a year. Also, how should I go about resealing the grips to the controller?

This seems to be a regular problem with rubber grips, sadly. People are regularly having issues with them coming off of the Elite controller. If it's under warrantly, definitely contact Microsoft/Design Labs again to get it fixed. I have an Xbox Design
Labs controller myself, but without the rubber grips. Sorry you're having issues with them. Hopefully you've had it for a long time at least and got some good out of them so far.

Design Labs does offer a rubberized grip for the controllers as I got that feature when I purchased my custom controller. There is an additional cost for that option though.

The rubber part peeling off seems to be a common problem.

I've seen 2 Elite's where the rubber came completely off and just fell off the controller within a few months. I got a regular controller through the Xbox Design Labs and have had it for years
and it still works perfect (no rubber grips or anything on it).

If it's outside of warranty and you would like to look into other ways of repairs, you may even consider looking locally. Where I live, I have seen advertisements for console and controller repair shops, so it might be worth a Bing/Google search. That
sad, I'm sorry to hear you've had such problems with the Elite. It's fairly common on the forums to hear about problems with the rubber grips detaching on them, and this is very sad considering the price tag on these controllers. I have seen 2 myself that
lost their rubber grips after several months, so I personally stick to my Xbox Design Labs controller (no rubber grips on them). It's just a basic controller with a custom color scheme, but it works great. I hope that the next gen of the Elite controllers
are designed much stronger and this isn't an issue any more.
