Demos

So is there a reason why they aren't putting demos for any of these games? Its sucks that they're charging $20 for an arcade game, but won't invlide a demo to try. I... like most like to try arcades out before investing in it, because you cant get that back.
Anyone have to some insight on this?

The only demo im sure of so far is NBA Live on the 22nd.

There are no arcade games on the Xbox One & demos are entirely up to the developers of the individual games, not MS.

 

Yeah there is a lack of demo's but as stated above, that's down to the devs. I would rather they bring out a digital rental service as I have discussed in another thread somewhere. That would be a nice replacement for demo's and also profitable for the devs.
Almost like an even ground.

 

I think I can agree to that - pay say, $1 - $5 for a rental, earn a few achievements along the way, helps you decide whether you want to purchase it or not, and the developers make some pocket money in return or a profit if you buy. For those who aren't
willing to rent, they can still do ample research with select demos (if still applicable after rental service is available), as well as with Twitch broadcasting, Upload Studio clips, and of course, the Internet.

what`s happend with you guys ms ... every event show always we can get demos so.... the competitions can? ms you need speed up or fix that

 

All XBLA/indie games on the 360 had demos. I have no idea why next gen don't. Me personally.. if there isn't a demo, I won't even consider a game unless it looks extremely interesting. Then I'll research the crap out of it.

 

Spitfire, it's my understanding that we don't have as many demos on the Xbox One because MS has decided to allow developers to choose whether they want to offer demos of their games or not rather than making it mandatory that they do. Research has also shown
that demos are actually more likely to hurt game sales than help it, which is another reason why you don't see developers still releasing demos. If you want to do research on a particular game, and a demo isn't available, you can still check out the game's
official website, reviews, community forums, or even watch others play it using the Twitch app on your Xbox One/Xbox 360 or at Twitch.tv on the Internet.

 

I haven't played an Demo game since I first got my XBOX 360 back in 2008.

 

You can blame all of this on "TWITCH" thanks to this stupid-a'' application that i care noithin about...i would rather play a game instead of watching some TOOL play and comment about his stupid experience...so beings that we can watch people play the games
instead of playing them ourselves, developers arent taking extra time to make demos because we can just watch some random person play and advertize it for them.....yes, it highly *** me off cause i like playing demos :\

 

Are you seriously blaming Twitch? They have nothing to do with whether or not a developers chooses to release a demo...
