Deleting a profile

I recently noticed that my current Xbox Live account is set up under an email that no longer exists, and my gamertag and points are attached to this account. I tried setting up another account with my current email address (since I can't change the email
on my current one without a password to my old, non existent email address) and was going to transfer my gamertag to the new account, but it automatically set up a new gamertag when I created the new account. Since there is already a gamertag associated with
my new account, it won't let me transfer the gamertag I use to the new account. Does anyone know how to delete the beginner profile/gamertag on my account so that I can transfer the experienced gamertag to this new account? I don't see an option anywhere
to delete it. Microsoft has made this a lot more of a hassle than it needs to be...Please help!

Deleting downloaded profile?

I decided to dust off my 360 and I downloaded my profile awhile ago. But if I delete it and not my actual profile. All of my saves and data will still be there, right? Because from what I read. The only point of downloading your profile, is if you want to log in to a different console.

Saves should be fine, proflie can be deleted and redownloaded.

Hello,

Even if the email address is no longer functional you can still access your original account as long as you have a password or security questions set.

You can reset your password on the original account :
account.live.com/.../reset

Once accessed you would add the new email address -
support.xbox.com/.../change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

It is possible to move a gamertag to a new microsoft account but that new account cannot have a gamertag attached :

support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

I hope this info is useful and you can get to where you want. I would suggest trying to add an extra email to your current gamertag after recovering the password - its an easy option.

If the profile that you deleted from your console is the one that you are posting from, you can indeed get it back. However, you will need to connect to Xbox LIVE long enough to download it. The only other option would be to download your profile to another
console and then transfer it with a USB drive. As for the game save, you can copy it or move it using another profile, making it owned by that profile. But, while you'll be able to afcess it with the new profile, you will not be able to earn achievements with
that save file any longer if you make a new profile the owner.
