    deleting a child account

So was instructed to come here. I have my daughters old account in our family Safety area, and it's an old account. Have been trying to delete it, but keeps asking me the question below in the screen shot. I'm the only one that put her on, but it was years ago and now can't get it off.

Im trying to set up a new account for her with google mail and this for a new xbox she got. I was told to come and post the question here.

There is no one else that has access to have put her on, just me.

    Thanks

    Penni

    deleting a child account

    HI there

Thank you so much for the information. This will come in very handy.

Right now my issues is we can't log into her Microsoft/gmail accounts, at all. I have tried every password, code, email I can think of, and I can't log in. We originally made her account back in 2016/17 to play Pokemon Go with the rest of the family. I can't find anywhere of who I can talk to, or message to get this old account taken down/delete.

I can't remember what it is from that time. And when I go to make her a new one, with her correct name instead of user name, it throws two into my Microsoft account under family.

I have a feeling that I'm going to just have to make her one, and make it an 18 year old account just so I can see it and be able to add to add to my home Xbox account.

And just tried to do a (what I think is a scam) $1 help advice. I shouldn't' have to pay, and the have access to my paypal/accounts.

I am at a total lost on this.

    Thank you

    Penni

Thank you so much. I was finally able to get into the account and delete it by going through the Add Family Member and one of the prompts in that. But for sure keeping this info for future use. I think I'm just going to wind up making her a regular gmail and or Microsoft account and add to mine. Having everything set up in a childs account was just too much.

thanks again for all your help.

    deleting a child account

Hello Penni *., My name is oskayra and it will be a pleasure to help you.

I tell you in advance so that there are no misunderstandings, this is a public forum for user-to-user support. We are users who help other users. We do not work for Microsoft and do not have access to any user accounts.

I understand your frustration. You may not be able to delete your daughter's old account because it is still active. If the account is active, it means you still have a working password and username.

To delete your daughter's old account, you must first deactivate it. To do this, follow these steps:

Sign in to your daughter's Microsoft account.

    Select My account.

    Select Security.

Scroll down to the Account section and select Deactivate my account.

Follow the instructions to deactivate your account.

Once the account is deactivated, you can delete it. To do this, follow these steps:

Sign in to your Microsoft account.

    Select My account.

    Select Family Safety.

Select the name of the account you want to delete.

    Select Remove Family Member.

Follow the instructions to delete the account.

If you are still having trouble deleting your daughter's old account, you can contact Microsoft customer support.

Here are some tips for setting up a new account for your daughter:

Make sure the account is secure. Create a strong password and enable two-factor authentication.

Give your daughter a playtime limit. This will help protect her health and well-being.

Supervise your daughter while she plays. This will help you ensure that she is playing safely and responsibly.

This information may be in another language so you will have to change it yourself, I hope you understand.

    I hope this helps.

    Merry christmas.

    Sincerely,
    Oskayra.
