    Deleted my Captures folder...

So I was an idiot and accidentally deleted a folder on my computer called "Captures," which appeared in my "Videos" folder. Turns out, this seemingly useless folder is the same one my Xbox One DVR uses to record and store my recorded game videos.

I've emptied the recycle bin. Can't get it back. And creating a new "Captures" folder didn't help. My Xbox App refuses to save any captured videos. When I try to download them, it crashes.

I've followed a couple of tutorials that told me to regain the file by going into "Properties" and selecting "restore default location." This doesn't work. When I open the folder
where the DVR should be saving things, it takes me to "C:local/users/appdata/temp," which isn't where the tutorials say it should be, and there's no "Locations" option.

I use downloaded game clips in my cousin's YouTube channel, as well as my own. Now I don't have a way to download those vids
    to my computer for editing.

Anybody have a fix for this?

    :)

    DVR Games "Capture" folder

    Hello,

I was in the settings of the Xbox app on my PC and i wanted to record games so i decided to go to the DVR Games settings. The problem is that i changed the place of the "Capture" folder and i might have deleted it so now my records are just being in the
place i set but not in the folder "Capture" (they are no longer in a folder, clean and so on). So i wanted to know how can i recreate a folder to put them in because when i go to select a place to put them, i just open folders but i can't select one (in the
    "open a folder" section).

    I need help

Btw I speak french so maybe the folder "Capture" has an other name.

Deleted the Game DVR Captures folder

I deleted the captures folder and now game DVR won't work.

Is there any way for me to restore it?

The Game DVR setting page says the following:

    Deleted my Captures folder... [IMG]

As you can see, it isn't saving the files anywhere, so when I attempt to record something, I get this error:

    Deleted my Captures folder... [IMG]

I have attempted to recreate the folder, but It still refuses to save game clips. Is there anything I can do?

IMO it was very silly of Microsoft to make Game DVR not have an option to change the location.

The only possible solution I can think of is reinstalling Windows.

    Deleted my Captures folder...

At this point, I am sorry to say but nothing can really be done unless you take it to a computer store and attempt to do it that way. You may also consider an application that allows you to recover deleted items, or simply back them up onto a USB or disc.

As this is more of a Windows related issue, please in future post at

[xbox game bar] Old deleted files still populated in the "shortcut" list

    I feel so sorry to have bothered you for so few :{

Solution: simply delete the Captures folder itself once the GameBar is launched it recreates the folder and the "old captures" are replaced by the "real content" of the folder...

How could I recreate the "Captures" folder if I accidentally deleted it?

Hi, in the temp folder, the recordings are saved inside other folder?

    If yes do this instead.

Go to Windows settings > gaming > captures > open folder > drag that folder to the Videos folder in your PC.

After that try doing a new recording and you should be able to see the new recording saved there.

If that doesn't work create the Captures folder inside Videos.

Then delete the registry keys associated with the game bar :

Press Windows key+R then type regedit and press Enter.

Go to this path (expand the folders using the little ">")

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR

Once there delete all the keys except (Default), restart your PC and check if you can save the clips inside Captures
