Deleted game data after profile was removed from xbox

upon further inspection I think the issue is with the hard drive I bought which had all of the saves for this game on it. when I went to look at the storage on the hard drive it said all of the saves were made by an unknown profile. the Xbox now has the
ring of death so I guess there's nothing else to do. is it possible I have a virus or is it just plain old operator error?

If you saved in the cloud, there would be no problem when re-downloading your cheese. The serious question would be, if you were able to synchronize the data when you returned to the game?

Thanks for reaching out the forums. We see you have a question on save data. Unfortunately, when a profile is removed from the 360 if delete profile and items was selected this deletes all save data. There is no way of recovering this as it was saved to
the console. We recommend enabling cloud save, however you need an Xbox live gold subscription for this also. This way saves are saved to the cloud.

Sorry you're having issues with your console saves. Have you tried playing any other games? If you don't have another game, you could test with one of the free games in the Xbox Games Store. If that doesn't work, try deleting the game and save data by going
to Games and Apps, finding your game tile, and select manage. Here you can delete the saved data for the game itself (delete console only, not "everywhere"), and any saves you may possibly have. After that, reload the game and try again. If you're Xbox is
online, it may try to restore from the cloud. If you still can't save try removing your profile by following

this link. After it's removed try downloading your profile back to the system and testing your saves.
