Deleted email address

My email address was hacked, more than once, last year. As it was the one I used for most online 'stuff' I decided to close and delete it. Now, a few months later, I've realised it's also my profile/gamertag/xbl email address. Is there any way to simply
switch to a new email for my gamertag (keeping all associated stuff I've paid for over the years) without access to the old email address?

Thanks for the effort people but no joy. I know it's my own fault but its made a little more frustrating knowing that MS has everything I've ever done on xbox and pc, tucked away in a little folder somewhere. Just gathering dust for all eternity lol

So, if you
closed your Microsoft Account there was a sixty day grace period before your items were removed. If you're out of that Window, then I'm afraid there is not much you could do, and for a final answer I'd have to direct you to
Offical Support here.

If you're in that grace period and can restore your account (details are in the first link I provided), and then

change the email address associated with your Microsoft Account following the steps here.

That should cover what you're looking for, good or bad. Best of luck!

It can all depend on how it was removed. Because there is the email address, yes, but then there is the overall Microsoft Account, which is identified by the email address. There is a possibility it still exists, and then you'd be able to follow the steps
I linked for changing the email address of your Microsoft Account, but, again, I'm stressing here, it depends on how you went through with the 'deletion' process, I'm not guaranteeing that it'll be there. Like @XBF Brad A said, please try logging into
account.microsoft.com and see if you can log in. Microsoft Accounts can be identified by email addresses that aren't Microsoft controlled (Like live.com, outlook.com, etc) and be identified
by gmail.com accounts, aol.com accounts, etc.

Hi Dave,

Try going to the
account website and log in with the email. If it hasn't been within the time frame of deletion. It will log you in and cancel the deactivation. It doesn't hurt to try as it may still be active. If you simply just changed the email you will be good.
