I think it’s silly how in 2018 you can’t simply move or delete account from a Microsoft email with out deleting and losing your email address, all I want to do is change the email account witch was my dads at the time when creating my Xbox live account I’m
26 now and would like to move it to my email, allso on my email there’s isn’t a random Xbox account that I have no idea where it came from. It all sounds simple in theory but seem to difficult for one of the world leeding company’s of computing technology

How to Download, Move or Delete Xbox Live Profiles

You need to download, move or delete your Xbox Live profile in certain circumstances. If you want to play on multiple consoles of your own or of your friends, you will have to download or move your Xbox Live profile from one console to another.

In addition, you might need to download the Xbox Live profile for the following reasons:

    • You deleted you Xbox live profile by mistake.
    • You need to use your Xbox LIVE gamertag on another console.
    • You want to use your existing Zune or Games for Windows account instead of creating a new account.

You can also move your profile to the other consoles using a USB flash drive.

How to download Your Xbox Live Profile

You can easily download your Xbox Live gamertag to a console by following a few easy steps:

    • Press the larger X button in the center of your controller which will lead you to the Xbox Guide.
    • Select Download Profile to start download. If your do not find this option, sign out of your profile by pressing X.
Enter the user ID of your Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) which is associated with your Xbox Live gamertag and then enter the password. Select the desired storage drive to save the profile.

Note: A Microsoft account is essential for signing in to any Microsoft services like Xbox Live. You have to provide your parent’s Microsoft account information to download the profile if your account is an Xbox Live child account.

You can save your "Microsoft account" password on the console, so that you don't need to provide it to sign into your profile again. The Remember Password option is off by default. It is better to save the password on your own console not to be asked to enter the password again and again at the time of singing into your profile. If you are using a console that is not yours, you may want to leave the Remember Password option off (unchecked).

Now you should be able to sign in with your gamertag on the console.

**If per chance you did opt to check the Remember Password option on someone else's console, your password can be remotely removed off of that console. Check out How to Password Protect your Profile on Xbox Live.**

How to move your profile to another console

You can easily move your profile to another console using a USB flash drive or Xbox Memory unit following these steps:
    • First off, plug a USB flash drive or an original Xbox 360 Memory Unit into your console.
    • Go to the Settings option to select storage and then select All Devices.
    • Select Gamer Profiles and Press Move.
    • You need to select the USB Storage Device or Memory Unit
After performing the above successfully, remove the memory unit or USB flash drive and insert it into the console on which you want to move your profile. You are required to enter your Microsoft account password which ensures the security of your account.

After playing on another console, if you want to move it to previous console, remove the USB flash drive or Memory unit and take it back to the original console and repeat the steps above.

**You will be asked for your Microsoft account password when you move your profile to a different console. This is to protect you and your account if the device is ever stolen. If you want to find out more, check out How to Password Protect your Profile on Xbox Live.**

How to delete a gamer profile

You can delete unused profiles following few steps:

    • Go to Settings to select system.
    • Select Storage
    • Go to All Devices and select Gamer Profiles.
    • Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
    • Press delete.
Note: You can delete the profiles only or you can delete both the profiles and items (the associated saved games and achievements).

if i delete a live account can i use the email i used for the deleted one again or not

    Hi there,

you can not really delete an account, you can only move it to another email to free up the email, but you will need to be able to sign in to do so.

So if you don't have access to accept the terms you can't move it to another email.

    -

Have your parents tried to reset the password for the parental account via the steps here:

    support.xbox.com/.../forgot-microsoft-account-password

    -

If that doesn't work then you will need to create a new account, be aware that you can not move any save games, past purchases and subscriptions from one account to another. So will have to start all from scratch and will need to buy xbox live gold etc again.

Delete or be able to move gamer tag from one (Microsoft) account to another

It comes down to licensing and security of the account. You have the Microsoft Account as a whole and pieces of that account such as Xbox, Skype, Outlook and so are are parts of that account. Anything you purchase digitally is tied to that account as a whole.

Since your dad wanted to use his account for email and didn't create a new account for you to use on the Xbox and used his existing account instead, this is the situation that you're in.

You can't transfer content from one account to another, whether it's games or emails. Each account is independent by design. And its usually how most large scale systems work.

You can set his profile as the home console on your Xbox and you'll be able to access the Xbox Games on your Xbox when you create a new account. You might want to get started on that sooner rather than later.

  5. Seems like a load of rubbish to me so they expect me to start again with over 10years of gamerscore, saves on games, multiplayer levels and progress all because I was bought a Xbox when I was young, seems very stupid and I know you used to be able to do
it move a account at least for one my friend did it and two when he the friend that is said it can be done I made contact with Xbox support and they told me I had to create a new email and have it activated for at least 30 days and not to sign in on any thing
related to Xbox so it didn’t have a gamer tag, then they couldn’t do some swapping, by the time the 30days was up I was then told that you’re systems where changed, so if it’s was possible in the past there’s are even walkthrough so on the Internet that’s
showed you how to do it even on your xbox one,

As I said it’s 2018 and I can’t swap a gamer tag and you could do it in the past :-/ least to say not impressed

"As I said it’s 2018 and I can’t swap a gamer tag and you could do it in the past :-/ least to say not impressed"

"and I know you used to be able to do it move a account at least for one my friend did it and two when he the friend"

    - You never could "swap" gamer tags. And you still can't.

    - You can change the gamer tag on your account but that's not what you want to do. You're trying to transfer the licenses and gamer tag from one account to another account.

    - You can change the "sign in email address" from one account to another. The gamer tag still remains on the account as a whole. But you'll run into a problem with that.

    - Since you never did create your own account, you have no "other" account to change your sign in email address with

"Seems like a load of rubbish to me so they expect me to start again with over"

    - As with any account, you can't swap or transfer the content from one account to another. And that's what you're trying to do, to transfer the content from one account to another.

"I made contact with Xbox support and they told me I had to create a new email and have it activated for at least 30 days"

    - 30 seconds or 30 days. It doesn't change the process. You can't do it.

    - Go ahead and create an account and wait the 30 days then try and swap you're gamer tag.

    - You'll find that the only thing you're going to be able to change is the sign in email address of the account.

    - And when you end up removing the email address from your dads account, you'll really be excited to know that when you remove a hotmail, live or outlook email from its original account, its gone for ever and can't be put back

It doesn't matter if you believe me or not. It's not my account. I am just giving you the facts of what you can and cannot do. If there was an article on how to do it, well they'd have those steps posted.

Since you've got time, why don't you get those exact steps that Xbox Support says on how to do this. Or check with you're friends on their exact steps on how to swap gamer tags from one account to another.

    Best of luck!

Reference - Note If you choose to remove an alias that uses a Microsoft domain such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @live.com, that alias will be completely deleted and will not be available to sign in to any Microsoft services.

To remove the email address you no longer use to sign in to your account, select
Remove next to that alias on the Manage your account aliases page, and then follow the instructions provided.

Important Do not remove this email address if you still want to use it to send and receive email messages.

Delete or be able to move gamer tag from one (Microsoft) account to another

If you can, please go back and delete the screenshot that shows your email address and gamer tag. It's personal info that you don't want to display here.

Take a look at Step #4 from that link you posted "After loading, you are given the option to enter the new Microsoft account that you wish to move the gamertag to"

    - You're changing the sign in email address of that account, you're not moving the gamer tag from one established account to another established account. You're putting in a new email "alias" and it moves out the other email "alias"

FYI - Xbox Support cannot make changes to your account. They cannot change your gamertag, your sign in email address or anything else about your account.

"my dad dosnt use his email any more so I don’t care if it get deleted"

    - If you don't care and he doesn't care about loosing access to that email address then you're welcome to change the email address of the account.

    - Changing the email address does not do anything to the gamer tag

Here is the article, that I posted before, on how to change the sign in email address of your account

How to change the email address associated with your Microsoft account

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/microsoft-account/change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

    - So as long as the email address that you want to use for the account is not in use on another Microsoft Account, you'll be able to use it for this account

    - With the screenshot you had posted, if you're trying to transfer that email address to the account with the gamer tag you want, that won't work. Because when you remove that hotmail address from your account it removes if from existence. And the next
thing you'll run into is that you won't be able to recreate that email address because the system will usually hold that email address for a period of time.

I posted this before too -

Note If you choose to remove an alias that uses a Microsoft domain such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @live.com, that alias will be completely deleted and will not be available to sign in to any Microsoft services.

I've been doing this since before the Xbox One came out. And there's never been a process to swap gamer tags, it's always been the email address.

At the end of the day, it's your account. I've given you the info. Please go ahead and do what you want. I don't have a problem with that. I am giving you the info of what you're going to run into.

Don't forget to remove that pic with your email and gamer tag from your last post here.

    Good luck

  9. I asked my friend before putting the email and gamertag on the discussion and it’s not used any more s I’m not that careless thank you

My point still stands with what I’m saying all I want is MY GAMERTAG ON MY EMAIL ADDRESS, witch I can’t do as the email is of hotmail and dosnt allow me to make it the alias of my gamertag you used to be able to do that and don’t tell me it couldn’t as

    .

Enter the email address and the password for this account and then choose "Sign in".

It says MOVE GAMERTAG it’s in the sentence so what ever I’m moving it or the email dosnt matter it is still being associated with MY EMAIL

your not helping your being part of the problem

And as I stated in my original post it’s silly why I can’t do this I have been through the steps that you keep hyper linking it DOSNT WORK for what I want I can do it for a google email yes but that’s not my email provider as it’s hotmail so dosnt help I
