Delete my unused Gamertag

Hi i created a new gamertag today but i will never use it so i wonder if there is a way to delete it erasing the gamertag name and the game history, the gamertag is iDeathrogue. i read on some post that deleting the email will erase the gamertag is that
true? Or please Xbox delete the gamertag, i will appreciate it so much.

Remove Gamertag from windows live ID

how do I cancel/delete an old gamertag that is no longer used from my windows live ID so I can associate my windows live ID to a different gamertag - I cannot do so with the existing old unused gamertag associated with my windows live ID

Old Gamertags

i was lucky to get my gamertag before the 360 launched, most names i can imagine will be gone. but they can't delete a gamertag if it still has an email attached to it or there is purchased content on the account, so it will take a while to clear the old
unused tags.

There is no way to delete a gamer tag. You can pay to have it changed, but deleting the Microsoft Account will not delete the associated gamer tag and will only make that gamer tag inaccessible since there will no longer be a supporting Microsoft account.

Inactive gamertags were deleted last year, but of course only a select few were deleted. To my knowledge, none have been deleted this year and we can only assume they are not going to delete inactive/unused accounts. Just hope for the best.

To Techmod, im not trying to combine two gamertags really, just eliminate my currently unused gamertag that has a xbox live / windows live id / email address. The offline gamertag is my primary and i wish to make it my gamertag / widows id / email address.
The offline account with my achivments is the account i wish to have xbox live with. If i sign up with xbox live gold membership on my offline account, will this delete my other live account? How do i do this.

Hi,

You can't buy unused gamertags I'm afraid. You will have to wait until Microsoft release the unused gamertag which they do occasionally. It could be years though.
