Definitely not a COD killer.

I find it interesting that anyone thinks Call of Duty requires a lot of skill. Twitch those triggers, lie on the ground, camp around corners, use stupid overpowered killstreaks... taxing.

Rainbow Six Vegas, now there was a challenging game. Even the AI could waste you if you gave them a sight of you, and the online was astoundingly difficult to master.

 

-I think it's just a simple case of some preferring one game, some prefer the other.

Personally I haven't enjoyed a COD game online since Black Ops ( COD 2 and 4 were my personal favourite ) I just find them extremely boring now, but that's just me!

So even before playing the Titanfall beta I wouldn't have gone back to COD, maybe in future if they really spice it up but even putting it up against the Titanfall beta, well all I can say is, "no contest"

^^^ This. My two favourite Call of Duty games, 2 and 4, are long past. It will never be that way again, and I've accepted that. What you have to understand with me is that Call of Duty has become predictable. Slow, perhaps not, but it's not a patch on Titanfall.
When I first booted up the Beta I wasn't impressed. A couple guns, 2 decent maps. Nothing that special. But for some reason I kept going back in. Then I became impressed, it became fun, and by match 4 I was completely hooked.

You say it's a kid's game, but this has more adrenaline than I've felt since first I played Gears of War. The tempo, the fact that no two matches are the same, the fact that you change it up by driving a giant mech every now and then, the parkour, the combo
jumps and wall bounces... it's so fast paced my heart starts racing just thinking about it. It wont be for everyone, but it's exactly the sort of change of pace I've been craving for years.

And like the other gent was saying, camping is no insta-win any more. In Call of Duty if the guy in on the top floor squeezing his rifle through the tiniest space, and you have to come at the objective from the ground, unless he's got poor aim he is going
to get you. And when you respawn and try again if his spot is good enough he'll probably get you again. Maybe even a third time. With Titanfall when somebody camped me out, I would find another way to get behind them. I'm not limited to ascending the staircase.
I'll spring board up between the two building behind, drop down, and jump kick his *** right off his nest. The versatility of how you can approach those situations is a blessing. Every camper I encountered could easily be taken down with a tiny amount of thought.

Maybe some people see camping as a genuine strategy, but Titanfall takes that concept, and makes it dangerous. You camp at your own risk in Titanfall, and I love that.

 

All the aforementioned games are great fun when you find a good lobby. Example-- When everyone is playing the objection and nobody cares about KD, the games are fun. Its just people trying to win. Its the community that has killed CoD, BF, and TF. Stats
and the stoopid community ruins everything. All these games are fun.

 

Just checked COD. Its now a ghost town.

Only 8000 online at the present moment and a couple of game modes had less than 20 people playing.



I don't think it will be permanent though as hard core COD players will get annoyed that Titanfall discourages camping and go back to COD.

If you think Titanfall has no campers then you haven't played enough yet. I have been playing all day today, 10 hours, and every time I get matched up against a squad of people that know each other, either a party or a clan, on attrition, they will all activate
their Titans at the same time and camp an outside corner of the map. The more I played today the more and more I saw it, to the point it was happening every other game. It's annoying as you can't do anything when your team isn't talking and are going against
4-5-6 Titans on their own and just getting instantly destroyed.

P.s really enjoying the game when that doesn't happen

 

Play dom, at least ya can score points without having to fight

 

sounds to me like "Camping" is a legitimate strategy if you're getting spanked by them

 

I wrote my previous comment having only played the 'Campaign' mode alone. After playing all late last night with friends and choosing our games modes, Dom and CTF, I noticed no camping; unless guarding a flag which is to be expected in them game modes. Camping
in Attrition is rife, I won't be playing that game mode any time soon

 

Capture the Flag is my mode of choice at the moment. I never play that mode in most games, so it's a testament to just how good Titanfall is.

 

COD seems to be the more fun and focused objective based game when played properly. It's not a testament to how good TF is.

 

Making me want to play CTF is a testament to how good Titanfall is.

 

Now that's what I thought you were trying to state.. I did not mean cod guys I was auto corrected by the kindle. I put CTF.
