Defective Xbox1 controller

Hey, I bought xbox one x on friday and got it earlier today. The controller wasn't functioning perfectly. The chassis for the controller doesn't fit correctly andbutton A gets stuck once in a while, I first tried to play with it but it felt dumb to play
with brand new controller which wasn't functioning correctly. How do I proceed? Thank you. And btw Rdr2 on 4k is amazing looking game.

Elite Controller fixes drift issue & stick tension issue?

2 original xbox1 remotes same issues. Why won't they acknowledge their defective equipment and take care of there customers?

You should try to follow these steps:

and open a repair request if necessary.

Since you just bought it, you'd want to contact the retailer it was purchased from for an exchange. If they don't for some reason, you'd want to set up a repair https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices

The only way I can see the HDMI cord being an issue is if the video board for the connection is somehow loose. Now unless you are “Conaning” The cord into your TV or Xbox, that’s usually something that you can’t do with normal wear and tear. I would also
definitely try a different HDMI cord just in case something is wrong on the inside of the one you’ve been using. If that happens to be the case and you have to get another one, try to find a braided-type cable to avoid any pinching of the cord and its components

The console should be completely powered off when setting up or connecting the HDMI cable.

Once physical setup is complete, Turn on the TV, AVR if using, then turn on console last of all.
