Defective controller or faulty design?

I got my new Xbox One S just 3 hours ago (at the time of this post) and I've discovered that the new model controller that came with the console has an odd and extremely loud rattling noise. The noise only occurs when the controller is shaken or whenever
it vibrates. It seems like a ball-shaped figure from what I hear and what I feel when holding the controller. When shaken, my hand feels something impact the surface of the controller from the inside. It's loudest when vibrating, though; whatever's causing
the noise seems to slam hard against the surface when it vibrates, making it sound a lot louder. This also only occurs in the left side of my controller both time. I'm not sure if it's defected or if there's just a poor design choice with the impulse triggers.
Regardless, I'd like to know if I can fix this issue before having to send it in for a repair.

Left Trigger??

Since you say you tried multiple controllers:

Did you turn off the "faulty" controller, or did you simply sign up a second and third controller and the first, defective controller is messing up with the "stuck" trigger, so you think the other controllers also have a defective left trigger?

Since you got your Xbox so recently, you can return it to the store for an exchange. The controller is not meant to be user-servicable internally, for the sake of warranty.

Sounds like something came loose (or chipped off) within the controller if it rattles when you shake it.

Although Microsoft's support called it a defect, the store did not. I then checked more than a few controllers at my workplace (game company with controllers everywhere), and they ALL had analog sticks which could be displaced vertically. I guess this means
it's NOT a matter of faulty products but rather a very strange (and annoying, for me at least) design.
