Defective console?

Xbox one....did I get a lemon of a console? Blacks screen, error when updating, turns off by itself, stops mid game/freezes. It is the console or the game? Only have Star Wars Battlefront.

Dang it, first a defective laptop, then a defective t.v? Technology really does not like me, god i hope its the tv thats defective and not the Xbox 360

What you've described is very unlikely to be software related. What things have you tried to fix the problem? My first thought would be it's possibly something to do with your internet connection? Are you wired or wireless? You see when the console can't
update correctly for one reason or another things start to go wrong. Have you had any E errors at all, like E200, E101?

If your internet seems fine then it would probably be best to try a full factory reset. You can find help on how to do this by clicking

The internet is wireless. I have very good connection. I have an Xbox 360 and have NEVER had any problems like I do with the Xbox One.

Yes, right now I'm getting an E105 error.

I'll check out the reset.

Could something be wrong with the hard drive? The console is brand new. I hate to think that the hard drive is already kaputz.

If your internet connection is fine then it's possible that it could be hardware related. I've had hard drives go on me within a couple of minutes in the past. Unfortunately it's just one of those things with electronics. You say the console is brand new.
Do you have the option to take it back for a replacement?

The xbox was a gift, so the ability to take it back is a no. Is the hard drive worth it to replace? Cost? Do it myself? So frustrating as the xbox is only one month old.

If you feel it might be the HDD you could always grab an external drive and have all your games & apps installed onto that instead of the internal. This would be your best option as opening up the Xbox and changing the HDD would void your warranty. If getting
an external isn't an option then it would probably be best to send it in for repair. You can start the repair process by clicking
