Defective Console - Poor Resolution, Giant SCAM by Microsoft

The X1 comes with a controller and it's considered an accessory.

And who knows maybe because it's external. Dosn't make sense to me but if true that is very stupid.

 

The power brick is considered an accessory and is covered under the warranty. Mine died after a power surge and all I had to do was pay the shipping and send the thing to MS. I got a new one back about two or three weeks later and all it cost me was the
shipping. Since it was around the time Titanfall came out I ordered an off brand power supply from amazon (it sounded like a jet engine) and then simply returned it to amazon after I got the new one from MS.

The brick is covered. He was given the option of buying another brick, or of sending in his to have it repaired/replaced.

This is moot. If anything in the console kit fails within the first 30 days it's the retailer one should talk with for a replacement, not Microsoft.

Long and short of it OP needs to return the entire package, either get refund or an exchange and carry on. There is no SCAM going on here.

 

@Icestom actually I was reading it right it is exactly what the OP said... In my mind his word is as good if not better then yours. Every post you make is influenced by the Kool Aid.

And @Kingvas how am i right I made it clear it didn't sound right to me get over yourself. If he posted something positive you would eat it up.

 

I'd still like an answer from the OP from my question.

Just for the record... I don't have any issues with legitimate gripes... I just want to understand the OP'S in regards to my question.

 

I think his resolution is not graphical... but resolve (?) anyways... sounds like OP does not fully understand what needs to happen when an item breaks or malfunctions while under warranty.

is not the same as this:

The brick is covered. Support told him as much. Generally, if one sends something into MS for warranty repair, one pays for shipping of the item to MS. His later comment about support stating it's not covered under warranty is incorrect, especially since
it directly contradicts what he initially wrote.

The brick can be ordered from the accessory section of myservice.xbox.com. That does not mean the one in the console kit is considered to be an accessory for the purposes of console kit warranty support.

 

The X1 will power on and work without the controller, it will not without the power brick.

In my eyes, the brick is a component of the system, and not an accessory.

Can I buy a 3rd party power brick and still have the system covered under warranty if it fries? I'm pretty sure that warranty claim would be declined. However, if it's just an accessory, there should be no issue right?

 

I'm in agreement that the PSU should not be classed as an accessory, whether Microsoft does or not. It's a vital component and one that is expected to be sold with every system.
