    Had the xbox one for 1.5 weeks. Played it once, loved it. Tried to play it a second time today and won't turn on. Called xbox customer support and they tell me that it is most likely the power brick that is defective. In order to get it repaired I either
    need to buy a new one through them or pay the shipping to have it sent and repaired. So essentially I am sold a defective product and then have to pay for the inconvenience of a defective product with additional cost and time wasted.

    If you've had it for "1.5 weeks", take it back to your retailer. That's the point of buying it from a retailer.

  5. i'm going to have to. i am just dumbfounded that their response is as stupid as telling me that the power brick is not under warranty because it is considered to be an "accessory"

    Sorry for you trouble. Defective products happen for all manufactures. If you are unhappy and feel that you have poor resolution, and are being scammed...the only advice I have for you is take it back for a refund. Millions of people are quite happy with
    the X1 (Myself included.).

    Sony and MS have done really good on their ends with this sort of thing....from the stories I've heard.

    Then this sort of thing happens. Not sure what to think.

    But yes....take it back to the retailer.

    Again. I am going to get my money back and get my refund. The issue is with the simple fact that yes defective product do happen for all manufacturers, but the resolution of defective products when you sell a product at $400 a console is what is upsetting.
    I am inconvenienced by their deficiency and now they want to take more money and waste more of my time. Millions should be happy - it would be a sign of a serious flaw if millions were unhappy. They need to do a better job of recognizing their mistake and

    Retailers typically cover a defective product for the first 30 days. Good retailers even pay for shipping of defective products back to them for replacement.

    Warranty services is not for the first 30 days, it's for after that. Most warranty service requires the owner to pay for shipping the product to the manufacturer. The manufacturer pays shipping on the return. My DualShock 4 L1 started sticking seven months
    after I bought it (Thursday, during the Destiny alpha). Sony told me to pay shipping to send it in. They would pay for the shipping back. A spare DS4 I bought from my local GameStop on Friday manifested a sticky R1 two days after I bought it. I went back to
    my GameStop on Sunday and they exchanged it - GameStop gets to deal with Sony on that one.

    Because you don't wish to educate yourself on how to handle returning/exchanging products and the windows for such things isn't the public's problem, it's yours. MS handles it the way most manufacturers do for inexpensive consumer goods (yes, $399 for a
    console is inexpensive). You're not going to find the grass greener anywhere else.

    Please explain your issue with the resolution... And why you feel you were "scammed" as you put it, considering you've only had your X1 for 1.5 weeks. Did you not do any research before buying it, and or have you been living in a cave?

    With the a amount of press, reviews, blogs, forums and just plain simple word of mouth, I find it strange that you seem oblivious to what the X1 offers overall... And how this equates to you being "scammed".

    So am I reading this right the guy bought a brand new X1 and the brick is not covered by Microsofts 1 year waranty? because it's a accessory. lol.

    And everybody here is defending it that's just dumb not to mention some store like Best Buy only give you like 2 weeks to return to store these days. So depending on where he got it time could be almost up.
