Defective Account?

Something is wrong with my account, it disrupts or completely blocks game play. If I try to play a game it freezes immediately. If I join on to multi-player with someone else's account the game freezes 3+ times within the hour. Sometimes more, but never
less.

I just got off chat with xbox support. And the only thing they can do for me is tell me to create a new account. And that I will lose everything, and as if that was not awful enough, I will also have to repurchase everything...

I just want my account to work. Or my "new" account to be as my old one was. Or at least not cost me any more money that I have already given them.

-can anyone tell me how to get my account working?

-do I really have to repurchase games I already "own" (it's a digital copy but I still bought it) because they can not fix the issue with my account?

Maybe this is a regular thing with xbox but I am completely thrown that I have to do this because they are unable to fix the issue. I'm not looking for a leg up, I feel like I am being tricked.

Dang it, first a defective laptop, then a defective t.v? Technology really does not like me, god i hope its the tv thats defective and not the Xbox 360

and open a repair request if necessary.

does this happen with one game or several games? ANd does it happen on each console your try it or just on one console?

Please let us know the results so we can try and assist with more troubleshooting.

Regarding Digitally owned content, this is tied to an account so if somebody creates a new account that content isn't connected to that account and thus does not own it. Via the Xbox One console it can still be available for other accounts via the Home console
setting, but for now let's first try and determine what steps have been tried etc

Several games, and I have not tried another console.

I went through all the steps they gave me.. They told me there were no more steps. And nothing could be done.

Basically all the steps they had me do are the ones on the support page, turning it off, uninstalling the game, testing the network, seeing if the system is up to date, removing the account, reseting to factory settings. I think that was all of them.

I am so very frustrated.

If you
create a new Xbox Live account and try to access/play the games that your main account is having trouble playing, do you experience the same issue? (If your Xbox One console is your home console, you will be able to access Xbox Live without needing a new
subscription.)

Also, what games, specifically, are you experiencing this with?

Kind of. My account completely freezes before the game can even start. For others there is just routine freezing throughout.

Is making a new account not as bad as I'm thinking? I thought I would lose all my progress and achievements like new character/accessories/weapons unlocks and such, and all the games iv purchased. Does that stay with the Xbox I'm on?

I'm rambling. Sorry, I am just so very confused.

When I am not on my friends account i can not access any of my stuff. For example on plants vs zombies all the characters I unlocked are not there anymore.

 

I do think creating a new account for now is to test if the games will work or not, this way it can be determined if it's either profile or console related.

But yes, you won't have the same save games and achievements for that new account, but like mentioned if your account (the current one) has the console set as Home console, that new account should be able to start/play the games. (In order to set your console
as Home console see this link:

If for example the games work normally for that new account, it is somehow related to your profile and will result in more profile focused troubleshooting.

So using a new account results in the same issue? If that's the case, we want to look elsewhere for the cause of the issue as it doesn't seem like it's isolated to your profile. Let's have you try the following things, preferably in this order. Try signing
in and playing after each step.

• Power cycle your Xbox One console
  
• Remove your Xbox Live account from your Xbox One
  
• Factory reset your Xbox One (while keeping your games and apps)
  

Give all that a shot and if it doesn't work, we'll explore other options. Keep us posted!

I'm greatfull for your help but these are the steps I did on chat with support.

What would be the profile specific troubleshooting steps?

And what I mean by the same, is that things have not changed. The new account does not work like my account, it works like my friends when I am signd on.

My account:

-can not get past the start screen on games.

Other accounts when my account is on:

- can play games with constant freezing. (3+ times within an hour)

Other accounts when my account is off:

-no issue (for at least 3 hours, haven't played longer then that)
