Default headset oddly not working

I had been using the default headset since day one and all had worked flawlessly. All of a sudden no one can hear me while I can hear voice just fine. I could even turn the controller sideways and they could hear me for a few moments and it cuts out again
with them describing me in a wind storm. I also keep a new controller and stock headset on deck so I opened them up, same thing. My voice would work for a few short seconds every once in a while but only when I re-synced the controller and console. Very strange

I did enough restarts for the software, kinect off & unplugged, and even restored factory settings. Same issue. For what is worth my wireless router has always been close but it hasn't caused a problem since Nov. Customer service thinks it's the headset
but one working for 6 months and then a brand new same problem I doubt it. Anyone had a similar problem? Solutions?

Normally starting up a game would fix it for me. If that doesn't work, from the dashboard, go to the upper left where you see your gamer picture and a dropdown arrow and sign in again. That should fix it.

i had that problem a few days ago, all i did was unplug it from the controller and plugged it back in, worked fine after that.

 

There is a problem that is, if you switch your Xbox One on with the mic already plugged into your controller, then the mic will not work. But however your issue sounds different. It sounds to me like the auxiliary port on your Xbox One controller is broken
(the place where you plug your mic into). Does it have dust or any visible problems, if not then you might have to look into getting a new controller.

 

I doubt that is the problem. I opened up a new controller and new mic same issue. Odd

 

I think its a software problem, I have the exact same thing.

 

Been having this same, frustrating issue. No fix found for it yet

 

I have a "certified" xbox replacement coming tomorrow. I'll post.

I also found that if I was 20 yards away my voice would work until I started walking towards the xbox.......
