December Update stuck on Applying Update at 66%

Hi,

I've never had a problem updating my console but today, 14th of December 2018, my console is stuck at 66% when applying the update. This is stage 3 of the update, and my total percentage complete is 84%.

Please help, as the screen says that i shouldn't turn off or unplug my console. I don't want to lose or corrupt anything on the console.

Ok, i solved this by cycling down the power by holding the Xbox button on the console (I have an Xbox One), and then unplugged the system for 5 minutes. When i reconnected and powered up the console, the percentage of the stage 3 part of the update had
dropped to 40%, but then slowly increased to the full 100%. Everything seems good now - what a relief!

The updates lately have been poorly implemented . I tried to update Battlefront 2 and now my console wont update either .

The only advice I have been given by support is to power off/on , and delete and saved games .

There is an obvious flaw with the patch/update .

I don't see a reason that why an update to a game will have any effect on console updates. Game updates are not even maintained by Microsoft but by the developers.

Game updates and console updates are completely independant and one cannot affect the other. They are not even located on the same part of the hard drive. It is merely a coincidence that they happened around the same time. Game updates are done by the
game developer whereas console updates are performed by Microsoft.
