    Debit card is on my Xbox but can't purchase free things


    my debit card is on my Xbox and works everywhere else but when I try to get something free it says please add a valid payment instrument. I love xbox but this is really starting to get annoying I'm really thinking about just switching over to playstation
    and bringing my Xbox one back I am really disappointed and I haven't had any problems with Nintendo switch seems like there doing something right.

    Purchasing Free Games/DLC in the store requires a credit card.

    This used to not be the case

    I do not own a credit card or a debit card so I can't download anything free on the marketplace.

    Is this a bug? Or is this the norm now?

    Unable to download the witcher 2 through backwards compatibility on my Xbox one. It states the game is free but it will not allow me to purchase without me submitting credit or debit card details. Does anyone know if this issue is likely to be fixed? Don't
    want to give card details as I use top up cards. Free should be free.

    Can’t purchase Xbox 360 games on Xbox One?

    You need to have a Credit Card or Debit Card to purchase any Xbox 360 Game. (You can't use Microsoft Credit)

    You can't use a gift card to purchase a subscription without a credit card/debit card entered as a secondary payment option

    Sorry for the long reply, my internet time is limited. No Viva La Lamb you do not need a credit card or debit card to make a purchase, regardless my account USED to have a debit and credit card connected and when they were removed my paypal is still verified
    and in perfect working order. I'm out of Xbox live and I'm not going to lie, if I can't get my paypal working for my xbox I won't be able to get gold(excluding buying a prepaid card, which I wont). I mise well get Cod for my PS3, as least I'll be able to play
    free until Xbox sorts out their side of the problem with Paypal.

    Hi, you can't ask for a free membership here but there's an $2 for 1 month offer on the xbox dashboard you can use that with a credit/debit card
