    Death Stranding: Failed to get save data path: error=0x8083000f


    After installing the XB GP PC version of the new release Death Stranding today on my secondary D drive of my Windows 10 laptop, I get a prompt after starting the game and seeing the splash screen:

    Failed to get save data path: error=0x8083000f

    I see on Reddit others have this same error, but the path creation one person suggested doesn't work for me.

    I can advise you another things to test just to cover everything from your side. If maybe the issue persists, the next step will be wait for an official 505 announcement.

    1. Try creating a new local administrator user and try running the game from there:

    2. Open task manager > select startup tab > disable all the programs listed there, once done restart your PC and give it a new try

    3. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

    4. Perform an in-place upgrade for your system in case the above doesn't detect anything (don't worry, your content will remain)

    Windows is updated. The newest NVIDIA driver is installed. 505 games 1st reply was to reinstall the game to C Drive. I tried that too. No solution yet.

    In the XBOX app I chose the option to Move the game to the C Drive. After it moved I got the error that the game was expired. I chose the Repair option in XB app. Now the game acts the same as before... the Failed to get save data path: error=0x8083000f

    I had the same issue and couldn't even find gaming services using search in Microsoft store, had to use powershell

    505 games rep told me to update the MS Gaming Services app. I found a YouTube video on how to update it.

    Ran Powershell app and enabled Admin privilege with right-click when running Powershell.

    Type/pasted, used:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    Updated Gaming Services. Also updated other Xbox apps that are on my PC.

    Game worked afterwards.
