Thank you so much, I can see why the Xbox community has such a wonderful customer service, I would like to thank you for responding to all my questions and I would like to make further suggestion that the Xbox community should allow for free to play games
to be played for free on Xbox as this is already an issue how can something be called free to play if you need to pay the hosting platform to access it. It should be on those that develop the game to pay on their loyal playerbase for console servers or that
they must maintain the servers themselves as they can do that with no issue on PC servers, just a thought when you look into newer generation consoles it gives more people an incentive to buy Xbox as it would be more of a convenience especially considering
the process that goes about building a PC and so on but if you have a console that can play all the latest major free to play titles with only the cost of the hardware which would probably still end up cheaper than PC parts (Especially in poorer regions where
PC hardware costs are really high) you could tap into a larger audience and increase your console sales in comparison to your main competitor.

Just a thought considering I am from one of those less accessible areas that bought the console on the basis of convenience and finding out that most of the convenience I thought it had was non existent.

You can buy prepaid cards which allow you to add the subscription without turning on auto-renewal.

In regards to your question, in order for you to be able to use the services that allow you to be able to play games online with the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, you are required to pay for a subscription.

This fee is used to maintain servers and such. On PS4, you do not need a subscription to play these Free-to-Play [F2P] titles, however, on the other platform listed, this is a requirement.

I hope this is able to clear up any confusion or turmoil this might have caused.

Alright makes sense, thanks for the help a second question if you will so that I don't have to make a second post, why do I need to buy the game pass to play online, on previous generation consoles all I needed to do was connect to the internet and bam,
is it because Xbox owns the live servers the games connect to? And does this occur across all consoles (namely ps4 and the switch) or is it just exclusive to xbox? And does this apply to free to play games (Like paladins as an example).
