    Well the deals are live, sadly it looks like although the US are getting the advertised 50% off Thief and Tomb Raider, the UK is only getting about 45% off.

    Thief is £28 and Tomb Raider £24.

    Don't think it is permanent,not 100% sure though.

    It was a seperate price reduction from the others,probably why it wasn't on that list.

    It seems like Spartan Assault could be a permanent price drop.

    And next week, the Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 versions are going on sale too (starting Thursday) for very little, $2 (something like £1.70).

    They're also releasing a Steam version next Thursday.

    Just downloading Halo Spartan Assault, £7.99, I can't grumble Deals on XBox One games 50% off :)

    I picked it up on Windows Phone for £2.29 during a sale, and because of that was entitled to the discounted Xbox One (and Xbox 360) price of £3.99. I was pretty happy with those prices. Deals on XBox One games 50% off :)

    It's a good little game, I was playing a load of Co-Op and really getting into it and then came the release of a little game called Titanfall...

    It's not a bad game, you can tell it's a port of a mobile game tho.

  9. Currently arguing with Xbox Support over the discount amount. The PS4 is advertising Thief and Tomb Raider as 50% off same as the Xbox One and their store is showing £49.99 down to £24.99 and £44.99 down to £22.49 respectively, yet the UK xbox store is showing
    Thief as £27.99 and Tomb Raider at £24.99, and the answer I get is "prices vary by region". Same happened with Ryse last month, the UK discounted price was wrong and was corrected, and with marketplace content when the switch was made from MSP to currency.

    Yet another sign that Xbox are desperately trying to revive this dying console. Console prices being slashed, game prices being slashed. I'll wait because they'll be down to 75% off before we know it. I hate PlayStation but you gotta respect that they recognise
    that they've already won this war. Putting up the price of the PlayStation 4 = Genius. They're so confident that they've destroyed Microsoft and I'd have to agree. Microsoft have tried to pander to a mass market and forgotten their key demographic, Gamers.
    If they'd have concentrated just on us, they'd have put up a better fight. Instead, their 4th rate next gen console ranks well behind the PlayStation. Hell, it's apt that they called it the Xbox One because the Xbox 360 is 360 X BETTER than the One. Mark these
    words. When PlayStation smashes Xbox in units of The Elder Scrolls Online sold Microsoft will begin looking for an exit strategy. There's only so much money the major shareholders are prepared to throw into this money pit...

  11. ^ Just an observation but my interpretation of a company slashing prices is (a lot of the time) because they are comfortable to lose a little extra profit due to how much money has already been made rather than desperation.

    Both games were discounted by the same on the Sony network, so it's hardly a sign of anything .

    Might be a sign of both games selling poorly on both consoles.

    Marketing - serious business...

    It's probably more of a reflection on the games themselves. They were discounted by the same on both platforms.

    Probably a smart move too. Sales of either didn't seem to be all that great, but at 50% off there seemed to be a lot of people who were quick to capitalise on the opportunity.

    Sure they lost money on what they could have earned had those sales been at full price. But at full price those sales would not have happened. They take less profit per unit but shift more units.

    And being digital, the distribution costs were much lower too.

    ~~~
    But of course, if someone wants to read into that the demise of the Xbox One and the Xbox division and Microsoft and the whole of Seattle, they're unlikely to be swayed by that argument and will continue making their own regardless.
  15. True. Shame, TR did well on the 360 / PS3 / PC didn't it? I cant say much for thief as I don't know a terrible much about it but even though TR might have been selling badly on next gen lately, there was enough sales to make up for it on the PC and last
    gen consoles right?
