FYI - I was super excited about Burial at Sea: part 2, but be aware that there are reports of a game-crashing bug pretty far into the story. Apparently, players are getting to an area where the screen goes pitch black, so you can't see anything, but you
can still hear that you are playing.

I am holding off playing it for a few days to see if the bug is addressed.

 

Shocked that ppl are Saying Bioshock Infinite isnt worth $10.00. I loved the gameplay as well as the amazing story and while most games and even movies endings now a days are terrible an incomplete Infinite explained everything but also made you think with
its deranged yet highly creative ending!!! You're missing one of the best games of last year for only 10 bucks IMO!!!

 

^I cant comment mate, I have never played a bioshock.

 

You should definitely play them Cloud. They're some of the best games the 360 has to offer.

 

I absolutely loved the first one that came out in 2007. My problem isn't so much with Bioschock itself, but rather, with the FPS genre. I don't have any interest in the game. Just another in a long line of FPS sequels... hell, even if someone gave it
to me for free I wouldn't even play it.

 

So you're essentially saying you're being biased and not actually judging the game on its own merits?

Or are you just tired of FPS games? If it's the latter I can understand but if it's the former well then..good for you.

 

The first one was pretty good.

Second was okay at best.

Infinite was them taking a defibrillator to the already dead horse so they can attempt to beat it to death once again.

 

I don't see how Infinite was that but okay. After seeing a lot of positive feedback I think I will get the original BioShock. So much for playing AC4 next. That will have to be postponed again XD

 

I could go on a diatribe for why infinite is crappy and way worse than the first Bioshock.

 

Infinite was pretty good actually. It wasn't as good as the first Bioshock, but it was still good.

 

No. They tried to mask the horrible shooter mechanics and overall horrible gameplay with a 2deep4u plot and a semi-lovable supporting character.

It was bad.

 

Semi lovable? I loved Elizabeth! She saved my butt so many times on 1999. Booker was pretty cool too. A 2deep4u plot? Lol. That's what they were aiming for with the name of the game. Infinite worlds, infinite possibilities! The shooter mechanics? Pretty
sure they were the same as 2. Hip fire but you could ADS if you wanted to. Maybe it wasn't as good as 1 plotwise or whatever but it was still a great game nonethelesss.

I wanna hear what Pyramid has to say.

 

For one, the more scripted/linear nature of the game that decides to adhere to modern day FPS design is the exact opposite of the first two games in which combat and exploration was approached more organically and emergent.

Second, I freaking hate the two weapon system that has been popularized since Halo. With Infinite, I feel constrained because there is no reason for me to experiment (or enjoy!)with other weapons when my survival depends on the most accessible and plentiful
of ammo(the machine gun, for instance.)

That's a very simple explanation of my thoughts and doesn't even go into all the detail and points I can bring in regards to how much of a disappointment Bioshock Infinite is.

But for the record: I'm saying there is anything wrong with liking the game. I'm not trying to diminish anyone's enjoyment of the game. Cheers folks.

 

You think the shooter and gameplay mechanics were good?

Half the weapons in the game are reskins of the submachine gun

The only interesting weapons are useless because ammo for them is impossible to find.

Getting gun upgrades is not challenging nor meaningful because you can just buy them whenever you want.

If I recall correctly, you can buy plasmid upgrades as well.

You are constrained to two weapons.
