    Dead XBone data transfer to X?


    My much used Xbone won't fully boot, stops at the green Xbox One screen. So I pre-ordered an X to pick up when they release. Can I just pull the hard drive out of my dead Xbone, mount it in my ancient USB hard drive dock (looks like a toaster) and plug that
    into the X via USB?

    Please forgive my ignorance, I'm elderly and hit middle age gaming on an IBM 286 DOS computer. Thanks in advance!

    Can an official xbox transfer cable be able to transfer data from a dead xbox 360 HDD to a new one?

    license transfer interruption Enquiry

    I just wanted to find out something in regards to a license transfer on the 360 with whether or not it will interfere with the xbone due to the six month policy.

    So there's two xbox 360 consoles in this house hold, and one XBONE that we share. i've transferred a game one the 360 within the last six months. My main problem is that i've purchased a game on the XBONE that we share and I'm now getting my own XBONE and
    im aware that its possible to transfer on the xbone, but do i have to wait for the six month period to end before i can transfer on the XBONE?

    Hi

    No it is not possible to remove the hard drive from your old Xbox One and then place the drive in an external hard drive enclosure to still access your content.

    As long as your console was online all of your games purchased through the online store and game saves can be downloaded to your new console.

    However for your existing console please use
    this link     and select the option to update your console offline and hopefully you will be able get your console back running.

    only way I see this happening is if you saved all your data on the cloud provided for Xbox 360. A lot of data was transferred over to XBONE using that. It would likely be your best bet for this.

    even without an external hard drive you will be able to use an upcoming transfer tool to transfer data via your Wi-Fi....

    There are videos demonstrating it doing the rounds... just search the net for xbox one x data transfer tool to see it in action

    Assassins Creed 4 for the Xbone is a pretty good game but I like Dead Rising 3 for the Xbone even better.

    If you need another USB C cable that is compatible with data transfers, make sure it says something like 'Sync and charge'. All USB C cables that support data transfer can be used on Xbox Series X|S controllers.
