Dead Space 2 Backwards Incompatible?

Hello X Community,

I recently got my hands on a used copy of Dead Space 2 to which I tried running the game on my XB1 but to no avail for it gave me a system error stating that the game isn't backwards compatible. This is a first since I do play most of my X360 games on my
XB1 without any prior issues.

Also worth mentioning is that both of my consoles couldn't read the disc 1 of the game upon insertion, disc 2 runs on my X360 but only for the main menu.

Can someone please provide me with a solution or tell me what's the matter?

Hmmm, it is back-compatible, actually, per Major Nelson's site. To run on Xbox One, your console must be able to access the disc so it can prove you own it, and thus download the compatible file from Xbox Live. If it can't read the disc, that may be the
problem.

I wonder if you are having issues because Disc 1 couldn't be used? I'm not sure if Disc 1 is required to start the game.

It's on the BC list. I haven't heard of there being any issues with the BC version of that game.

Backwards Compatible list.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Hello fellow X community members,

I would like to thank you all for your prompt responses in regards to my situation.

I have taken the suggested steps given and found that the disc itself is at fault for a used two-disc copy of a game cannot be used more than once. The installation disc (disc 1) has been used prior to my purchase therefore fulfilling its one-way usage.

I have contacted the seller and notified him of the issue and am now waiting for an exchange/refund.Neither of my consoles the X360 nor the XB1 are at fault over the situation.
