Well there were hints of it but now it seems that it has been confirmed that Dead Rising 4 is a timed exclusive to microsoft platforms. A Capcom Vancouver representative had this to say when asked about
it:

Capcom Vancouver is developing, MS is pubilishing. 1 year exclusive with MS. Slightly different deal than DR3.

Dead Rising 4 was the only game during Microsoft’s E3 Press Event that wasn’t labeled as “Xbox One and Windows 10 Exclusive” which led to people wondering whether it could come to PS4. Now it seems like
it really is like Rise of the Tomb Raider and could come to PS4 a year later.

Some of those exclusives were only timed exclusives. I noticed with one - I think dead rising 3 - they said it was "exclusive at launch".

 

Uh oh. People won't be able to handle this news. They don't want others to play with their toys. We better post a number to a suicide prevention helpline.

Not sure the value of the timed exclusive thing. Odd that Sony can get full exclusives and MS always has these timed things. Might should keep that money and pay to develop a new game or something else. Also not saying Dead Rising is a bad series. I
have enjoyed the first 3.

Not something that bothers me. But you would think that MS would try and get some exclusives for Xbox (console and Windows 10) that where on their cross buy and that where actual exclusive if they were going to go that route at all.

 

Not really. I guess they're cool and all but Ive always bought every console anyway plus I can handle it. Some people feel so betrayed when a game is released on a different console.

 

Sony has timed exclusives like No Man's Sky, Rocket League, Call of Duty DLC, Among The Sleep etc. So it seem like they both do it, as I have both consoles it doesn't really bother me though.

 

Now that we know officialy that "Xbox exclusives" is a thing from the past.Not really a surprise to see Dead Rising 4 coming on other platforms.

Last year,internet was on fire and a year later nobody seems to care.

I'm glad that PS 4 owners will get a chance to play "Dead Rising".

Exclusives that cut gamers off from good games are dumb.

 

Funny thing is, having recently played Rise of the Tomb Raider Sony fans haven't really missed much with that one. Solid game, but nothing special really. I could have replayed the previous one and had the same experience, haha.

I think it's good other platforms will eventually get to play DR4 and after you wait for these timed exclusives you realise the wait doesn't change the experience.

I really want to buy DR4 and keep it for actual Christmas time, but I'm thinking they'll do timed challenges again for the release week and I won't be able to stop myself from trying to complete them.

 

Besides, they have "Uncharted". All my Sony buddies tell me it's pretty much the same game.

 

^I was going to say something like that, but having not played the series myself I couldn't make that comparison. I'm sure it would fill the void though apart from Lara's voice, love that voice.

 

I doubt I'd buy it exclusive or not. Zombie games do nothing for me. Still find it funny that it's such a no no when MS do it but for Sony it's a great Coup

 

I like zombie games but could never get into Dead Rising, don't really like the human boss fights.
