Dead Or Alive 5: Last Round Gets New $93 Costume Pass!

If you thought that with the release of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, Koei Tecmo would have stopped releasing costumes for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, you were wrong.

Today the publisher is launching a brand new costume pack for PS4, Xbox One and PC- The Newcomer Set includes 16 costumes for $18.99. Individual outfits are also available separately for $1.99.

And that’s not all, we also get a brand new costume pack, for the usual and not exactly cheap price of $92.99.

The costume pack includes a total of 78 costumes spread across multiple releases, plus one stage. It also comes with the bonus costume for Ayane “Miyama Ageha,” exclusive to the costume pass.

The release schedule will be as follows:

• April: Newcomer Costume Set (16 costumes)
  
• May: New Costume Set (16 costumes)
  
• June: New Costume Set (16 costumes)
  
• July: New Costume Set (30 costumes)
  
• July: New Stage (1 stage)

Do you have a copy of "Dead Or Alive 5" or "Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate"?



I'm pretty sure the former had an "online pass".



I had "Dead Or Alive 5" and then I bought "Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate". All my costumes bought for DOA 5 are there in DOA 5U. Does anyone know if you bought DOA 5U only if they want an online pass off you?

Today Koei Tecmo announced with a press release that the basic free version of its latest fighting game Dead or Alive 5 has reached five million downloads worldwide counting Last Round and Ultimate.

In order to celebrate, users (whether they’re using the retail version or the free one) will get a free costume for Ayane and Kasumi designed by Mangaka Tamiki Wakaki, well known for The World God Only Knows.

 

Wow, that's a bargain for a couple of pixels.

 

Just wish they would stop cluttering up the marketplace and ps store

 

The most technically accomplished fighter of this generation and one of my favourite games.

Destroyed by the "Let's smash it up and sell it in pieces" App Store business model in which they sold it.

Just in case anyone thought of coming and giving it a try, to get all the content will cost you over 500 bucks.

Pretty much the above, I remember DOA Ultimate on the original Xbox seeing it as one of the greatest Fighting Games in a Generation and then as the years went on it slowly devolved into a complicated money-grab of a mess.

Just to give an idea when I browse the Marketplace for DOA Last Round Items I get confronted with a slew of different options so difficult to tell what I would be actually buying.

I originally purchased the "Core" Version for $39 (to which it is still listed as "Core" under my Games but now when I view it it shows as the "free" Version to which access to certain Fighters is locked. My "Core" Version" no Fighters or Achievements are Locked
but it still says I can buy the "Full Game" for $39. What did I buy then?

It gets only worse when viewing the different Costumes that are available. Some say they are part of "pack A" while others say "pack C and D" contain those Items as well. It's a broken mess that the simplest solution is to not play the game.

 

That's pretty disgraceful in my opinion.

Compared to some games this generation, that's actually a good deal. lol

Lego Dimensions will cost you around $800 for all the content. I won't even guess what
Rock Band 4 would cost... and so on and so on...

With that said, costumes are purely cosmetic. No one really needs to buy any of them. They obviously don't effect the game play... unless your opponent is looking at your shoes while you fight. lol
