    Hi there,

    As the title, I got my copy of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round for the Xbox One yesterday, and have installed the game - however when I go to the marketplace (either via the game or just from the Home screen on the dashboard) all of the DOA5/5U costumes that
    I had previously bought are not showing as 'Free' and instead asking that I pay for them again?!

    Tecmo has stated that all DLC should transfer over and whilst I've successfully retrieved my 360 save data (and I'm still using the same Gamertag) the content is asking to be purchased again.

    It's worth noting that most of the DLC packs that were on the 360 marketplace have slightly different names on the Xbox One marketplace, but I would have thought that if the intention was to allow 360 owners to redownload the DLC on the Xbox One, they'd
    upload the DLC with the same bundle names (or have a separate section for the old DLC to make it easier to download for users transferring)?

    Tecmo's site mentioned about the respective console marketplaces needing to update with the content, but as the DLC packs seem to be there, I'm not sure if this is an issue with the marketplace not recognising my account, or if the 'Free' packs for transferring
    owners are being uploaded separately (and this hasn't happened yet).

    Any advice would be much appreciated!!

    Before releasing "Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate" the guys at Tecmo released "Dead Or Alive 5".



    This game needed an online pass to allow you to play online against other people.



    Also you could buy costumes for your characters as they were released.



    Now when Tecmo announced they were releasing "Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate" people who had already bought "Dead Or Alive 5" said "Hey... wait a minute... what about all the stuff I bought for regular "Dead Or Alive 5"... are we going to lose it"?



    Tecmo said "Don't worry, the stuff you bought for "Dead Or Alive 5" carries over to "Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate".



    I am wondering if the reason you don't have access to the full menu is because they want you to buy an Online Pass.



    I bought an Online Pass for the original "Dead Or Alive 5" and have never been asked for one for "Ultimate" but that may be because I already bought it for the original DOA 5.



    Does that make more sense?



    Does it want you to buy an online pass?

    I had "Dead Or Alive 5" and then I bought "Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate". All my costumes bought for DOA 5 are there in DOA 5U. Does anyone know if you bought DOA 5U only if they want an online pass off you?

    Same problem here, and we're not the only ones. Apparently TN is aware of the issue (see their Twitter page), but don't expect a solution soon.

    Bought every bloody piece of DLC on 360, but can't download any of it on Xbox One. Can't even download the catalogs (except for #4), as #1 and #2 are 'Bundle only' and #3 is not available.

    Aside from the technical issues this game has, the DLC issue is the icing on the cake. But TN has no problem charging almost $200,00 for all DLC combined.

    So I got an answer from MS support on Twitter, they point me to the same dumb FAQ:

    "Please be aware that we are unable to allow the carry over of DLC purchased for the PS3™ or Xbox 360 versions of DOA5U to the PS4™ or Xbox One versions of DOA5LR until the hardware manufacturers have made the necessary preparations. There may be differences
    in timings between regions and hardware manufacturers in regards to these preparations.

    Additionally, please note that these plans are subject to change at any time. "

    Which basically means they couldn't be bothered to have everything ready for release, and we'll just wait until we feel like fixing this.

    Yeah I read about the 360 users getting their save data corrupted... glad I'd found out about that in advance so I didn't get the same issue.

    The DLC on the marketplace definitely seems broken because (as you said) they are only showing the DLC for users who bought the game digitally. I purchased the full retail disk, yet Costume catalogues 1, 2, and 3 are not downloadable and neither is the
    supposed "Free bonus" download that you get for purchasing the full game!

    I really hope Tecmo fix this soon, as there is no way I'll be paying out for more costumes if the existing stuff is going to be locked out.

    I bought a couple of costumes outside of bundles. They were available to download free on X1.

    everything I bought in a bundle however is not unlocked.

    Yes, I've heard this before. I only bought bundles, so I'm completely out of luck right now.

    Getting real tired of this. They only blame MS for not having made 'the necessary preparations' (whatever that means). Did they submit the DLC to MS on release date and not beforehand? I've never seen a company be so incompetent. Just give us a straight
    answer, so we have an idea what's going on and how long we have to wait.

    I know it's just costumes and I can play the base game, but it even says on the freaking box that I can import the 360 DLC. If you put it on the box, have it work on release!

    So since I reported this its STILL not fixed - and in fact looking at the FAQ on Team Ninja's site indicates that it is not going to be fixed.

    Point 3 on the following FAQ:

    "UPDATE:

    The current Xbox Store setup does not allow DLC to be carried over in sets. In order to carry over a DLC set from the Xbox 360 version, you will need to download each item from the set individually."

    Personally I think a warning should be placed on the game because advertising that DLC is transferable and now telling people that if they bought the DLC in bundles (Which i'd assume those who bought ALL the DLC would have done) they are NOT able to transfer
    it is just plain wrong - at the very least its false advertising.

    I've messaged Team Ninja on Twitter but I expect to be completely ignored - that they can promise DLC transfer and then immediately disregard anyone that bought their DLC in the bundle packs is just a really rubbish thing to do.

    I've downloaded almost every piece of content I bought on 360 on the X1 now for free as individual items even the items I bought in bundles. But there is a single item that still says I need to pay for it, Koroko's Pop Idol costume. Anyone know if Team Ninja
    and Microsoft are still working on making everything available or will I have to contact Team Ninja or Xbox support?

    Yeah, that's the only item that can't be transferred right now. I already sent an e-mail to TN about it, but even if they don't fix it I'm tempted just to put down the $2,- and be done with it.

    Digital "DEAD OR ALIVE 5"

    Dead or Alive 5 is not on the list of backwards compatible games for Xbox. There is a separate Dead or Alive 5 Last Round that works with the Xbox One consoles but the regular 360 version does not.
