Nice updated graphics version of "Dead Island".

The Fire Axe attacks animation is really long (about 3 seconds until the actual hit connects), I recommed pressing the attack button as you approach the target; thus allowing the weapon to hit once you're within range of the enemy

@Azrael I don't remember running and jumping off zombies, using a grappling hook to reach on top of buildings or zombies chasing me in any real capacity. I guess I must have missed one of the Dead Islands. Were there more than two?

 

Nope, just Dead Island and that Ripoff (I mean Riptide lol).

I've heard mix reviews about Dead Island: Riptide and my friend's review of the game was that it (Riptide) was only half as good as Dead Island 1.

@tCruzin I forgot about Escape from Dead Island. I don't know if its out yet but I'm sure it doesn't let you run and jump off a zombie then throw a grappling hook up to scale a building on some Batman ish.

I enjoyed Riptide btw. Maybe because I only paid $20 for it on or shortly after release day.

Well you could take a running leap into Zombies and send them flying when you'd amped your kick high enough.

Some of the zombies were really slow. Some would ignore you completely. Others would scream and leg it for you and draw even the ones that ignored you completely to where you were so yes, they chased you in the capacity that if you didn't get away you'd
die.

There were no grappling hooks though. You had to climb to reach the top of buildings.

It's not so much that there were more than 2. Just there was more than the 2nd game you played.

If you've played "Dead Rising" then "Dying Light" certainly looks like a newer version of that game.

There's no shame in that. The original "Dead Rising" was a fun game.

 

@Azreal Running and jumping off a zombie, effectively using them as a springboard to reach greater heights is not the same as kicking them across the screen with weird game physics.

It was EXTREMELY easy to get away from the zombies in Dead Island. You can't even compare that too the zombies at night in Dying Light. There is a reason their catch phrase is "Good Night, Good Luck".

What are you even talking about? I've played both Dead Islands and enjoyed them immensely.

I don't see the connection between Dead Rising and Dying light other than zombies and open world. I mean one is 1st person and the other one isn't. I'd argue that Dead Island 2 has more in common with Dead Rising than Dying Light.

I was just poking a little fun at Riptide is all. 3 of my buddies bought it and could not finish it. Every time they tired to join each other's game it would lock up. It pretty much had the same horrible bugs/ glitches the original did. I know everyone's
experience wasn't like that.

Oh yeah Burst Escape a From Dead Island I believe launches in November on 360 & PS3 and it's in third person. They are promoting it as a psychological horror/ mystery type game. I will NOT be picking that up, not interested in that at all lol.
