Dead Island 2 "Sunshine & Slaughter" Trailer

Was the first game set on an island ? I would have thought it was, I never played it, but the title kind of hints at that, Dead Island 2 is set in California according to the video, I don't get that, but, it looks like Dead Rising to me, Dying Light might
be the better one in my opinion.

 

I'd be more excited for this if Dying Light wasn't a thing already. Techland is not developing DI2 btw. Yager (the studio behind Spec-Ops: The Line) is making it. The blood looks super B-movie horror-ish and I love it. I may eventually pick this up for $25
or less. Hopefully I get a good Deal With Gold in 2016 as Dying Light should have worn a bit thin at that point.

Still, if it no longer takes place on an island, why still call it Dead Island? Just some food for thought.

 

Hello everyone

I loved Dead Island 1, but it was extremely frustrating having to deal with the non-zombie opposition (other survivors shooting at you). I lost WAY more money by dying from the non-zombie opposition than from the zombies.

The best way to handle the non-zombie opposition is to use a Frag Grenade.

I skipped Dead Island: Riptide and I am going to skip this title.

This looks great.

I loved the original "Dead Island". It was one of the best zombie games ever made.

I'll never forget having to drive to the petrol station to get gas... and then you needed to load the supplies into your truck... managing to into the truck and start driving off just as the Zombie Horde starts to swarm the truck and you only just manage
to pull away.

Fantastic immersion. If they deliver a polished next gen version of the original it's going to probably be better than "Dying Light".

@BurstAxe, agreed! I'm sure this game will be fun tho so I'll follow this until release and see how I feel then.

@Lei Fang, with count raised to 8 players I wouldn't be surprised if there is player creation , at the very least some customization options. I always thought it looks kinda silly when you have a co-op game and each character looks exactly the same.

This game needs a " cover & shoot " mechanic because going up against other survivors who shoot you is really annoying; especially since ammo is hard to come by in the game and melee weapons work a lot better against zombies

They said guns and ammo will be available early on (easier to come by as well) so it shouldn't be as much of an issue this time around.

I still remember where the Pistol ammo is located in Dead Island 1

It is in the Police Car in the other Hotel (the one with the bus and plenty of luggage scattered around it) LOL

@tCruzin This game should be good fun no doubt. It would be a day one buy if Dying Light didn't exist. To make this game on par with Dying Light they'd have to implement something crazy or innovative.
