i recently came in contact with a player on xbox who threatened me and proceeded to kick my xbox offline for several hours. i had my laptop recording everything including his voice in party chat with his friends and of the wifi crashing

i hate ddosing and i want to make sure this person doesnt do it to anyone else, where can i go to show the evidence towards him

    :)

Please contact your Internet Service Provider about this a quick power cycle will help you have been provided the link about DDoS so I suggest you try that and follow it, Your internet service provider should be able to help you with further details about
    it and get it investigated.

If you have reported them then they will be investigated by the enforcement team

You have to remember though that ddos attacks are done via your broadband/internet & not xbox live so that is something you will need to contact your isp about as that is down to them to resolve.

More info on ddos attacks & how to deal with them can be found HERE

they told me the area i lived in and then said my wifi is gone in the recording. it wasnt a big hit but he some how figured out the area i live in which isnt shown on my profile or at all in fact. i have it recorded.

this has happened before and the xbox community know about it. people are able to find your ip address by joining a party you are in and through a botnet kicking ur xbox offline for some time.

Ok first its not always good to confront anyone you do not know on or off xbox. Since you do not know them and they know nothing about you this should not really effect you to much either block them or ignore anything they say. I know for a fact some
players try to get on your nerves. For one you dont know what impacts their thought process nor would you. I assume this was some type of battle royal or player skilled game. Just block the person choose to report and let xbox handle everything else. And yes
the process the user didi is not difficult to achieve at all. Remember as I will tell all you do not know the expertise of the individual you are trying to confront. Many individuals these days have hacking and coding experience. I have seen even former developers
wreck mayhem and destruction (LOL). on an unwary xbox player, so just be aware and that's for everyone. Just because on thinks it may be hard to achieve doesnt mean its not easy for another one thats very skilled or one that just wants to cause harm anyway.
its sad sometimes but there are some that just have a grudge against everyone and its not your fault there are toxic coders programmers and devs also. Just block and move on. Make sure all your security is up to date if you use a VPN great. Using a good DNS
will be nice too. Hope everything turns out well, and thanks for being a loyal xbox member for years.

It's actually not that sophisticated, nor uncommon these days...
