Ddosing.

So you guys are pretty much saying I can go against TOS and admit to going against it and not get banned?

They're doing illegal things and kicking me offline on a service i pay good money for.

I don't want to keep on unplugging my router every day for 10 minutes. I shouldn't have to.

They are getting my IP from xbox and they keep on getting it because of the game (black ops 2)

My sons love the game so i'm not going to not let them play because of ddosing attacks.

If I continue to get Ddosed by these particular people i will be back.

 

Microsoft can ban the person and his console but they can't stop the attacks because they come from outside of LIVE.

They have no control over your internet connection. The only ones who can permanently put a stop to this are the people you pay for your internet connection, your internet service provider.

I'm genuinely sorry that this isn't what you want to hear but it is the truth.

 

I can understand what you're trying to say.

The thing is if there account/console is banned they wont be able to get my IP after i change it. The only way they keep getting my Ip is from getting into online mutliplayer matches in cod black ops 2. If there account/console is banned they won't be able
to be matched up with me.

However until then i have to keep my kids off the game as I'm sick of my internet being disconnected

 

If this person is so determined to keep you offline, that they seem to spend a great deal of time waiting for you in game, do you really think that they wouldn't buy a new console in order to keep doing so?

Sadly there are people out there with more money than sense, your ISP bringing potential legal action might be the thing to get them to stop.

There is a mode in black ops 2 called league play. They get my Ip from this and the reason they kick me offline is because I'm on top of my ladder. If I cant play then I cant get anymore points meaning they overtake myself.

I'm near certain they wouldn't buy a new console to continue this because it would teach them a lesson. They're teenagers and they think they can get away with everything.

 

I know the feeling by oatesy. Its part MS fault this is happening and part isp for not reporting them to the fbi or the correct goverment agency. You cannot get someones ip address from a BO 2 game mode even if its league play, unless they are hacking which
that is against their tos agreement. I belive MS TOS is to protect their butts from a lawsuit. Plain and simple. I bet if votedc and the others got DDOS their would be mad as all.

I have been the victim of a DoS attack in the past, not through LIVE but while PC gaming. Reset router, reported via in game tools, and let my ISP know. There are many things that get me mad but this wasn't one of them.

@Oatesy. I hope you are right and they do get taught a lesson. I still hope that you are going to report this to your ISP. The problem Microsoft has here is that the attacks are not coming from LIVE, they are not coming from the console. They are coming
from a PC.

So while they may be able to tell the address the attack is coming from, they have no way of knowing who in that house is responsible. What if there is more than one console in the place, do they ban all of them even though the others could be completely
unaware of what is happening to you?

 

Hi, these people have DDOS attacked many many people on this game. They do it to get higher on the ladder. They do indeed need to be banned. Honestly, stop blowing off this actual problem and victim blaming this guy.

They are breaking the law and nothing gets done. I have the address of one the these DDOSers and if he is not banned I will see him personally and hurt him most likely. I am not a patient person.

I will also tell you the gamertags again since the mod removed them for some reason.

Also, yes this account is silver I play from a different account and I was DDOSed by this person about 20 minutes ago. He was online for 13 hours today and every 10 minutes (the length of a game) He DDOSed somebody. Do that math.

If you are being DDoSed then I hope you are reporting the people to your ISP, as they are the ones with the real power to do something. Microsoft have very little power in this case as the people aren't attacking LIVE, but rather your internet connection.
There is a difference.

 

I pay for xbox live. The service is interrupted by people on the same service. If they don't get punished by the service provider I will just go to Playstation. Simple really. Also I will definitely just go beat sense in to this

You will encounter people who try and do the same on the PSN as well.

The attacks are not coming from LIVE or the PSN though, they are coming from a PC outside of either of those networks.

The DDoS attack is not attacking LIVE but rather your internet access. It is not attacking LIVE but your ability to connect to the service.

Since it is not LIVE that is being attacked, as I said, there is little Microsoft can do. Your ISP is the one who can effectly deal with the people attacking your service.

 

You know, I did comprehend what you said the first time and my post addressed how much I think that is an irrelevant fact. They are still abusing other members under the same roof. Which since I pay for there should be some sort of assurance this won't happen.
If this does not exist I simply do not see why I would pay. Capiche? It's happening on their platform, they have to take some level of responsibility and manage the people involved.

I also do not care if it happens on the PSN network. I have not bought a Xbox one or PS4 yet but if this goes unresolved I would give the PSN the benefit of the doubt.

 

If you understand then why are you complaining to Microsoft when it is your ISP that is the one you need to contact?

There are many things that I would blame Microsoft for but this isn't one of them. Why do you expect them to stop attacks coming from another service entirely?

Your ISP is the one you need to contact. They need to investigate.

You are a broken record and I disagree. I shouldn't NEED to contact my ISP. When I am using xbox live service and a user from said service does something wrong it should be dealt with inside that service. Like everything thing else in the

I won't reply to anymore broken record posts. If I am still finding said players in my games in time to come I will take action myself and I will drop this service and products. Preventable things.

By the way VoteDC maybe instead of accepting poor service you should push for a better service. There are many platforms and companies that would have dealt with these players in minutes.
