    DDoS'd by Xbox player after being invited to party.


    I was playing rainbow six siege and I happened to do very well one round, I got a message calling me a "hacker" because I killed the guy really fast. I responded basically saying, "no I'm just better than you" afterwards I received a party invite, I joined,
    expecting to enjoy some trash talking, instead this guy by the name of [Mod Removed] starts reading out my ISP and hometown, I leave the party immediately and he sends me a voice message saying "yeah you're scared now, you wanna talk all
    [Mod Removed], we'll see who laughs last" As I'm reporting him, my xbox live disconnects, and my internet goes down.

    What can I do to fix this and will he be punished for doing this? I take this very seriously, this is far past simple trash talking, he's shutting down my service because he can't beat me. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    -_- oh no, he's haxing my I.P......

    To avoid being host booted, or DDoS'd, do NOT accept their party invites, in the game they would have to randomly kick people offline in the game, and that would be completely pointless.

    Microsoft (and Sony) are currently under a DDoS attack from a hacker group known as Lizard Squad (according to the groups Twitter account). All Microsoft can do is react to the attack and bring Xbox Live back online.

    Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done to stop a DDoS attack until it happens.

    Just to be clear, Microsoft isn't being hacked, it is being DDoS'd. Two different things. Sony is also being DDoS'd right now by the same group.

    In the future please do not call out other GTs on the forums. It's usually best to just ignore users like this and move on rather than retaliate. Use the tools on your console to report and block communications with him. The enforcement team will investigate
    from there. Then power cycle your router to switch up the IP.

    My party chat has worked for the most part, but I kept getting some message the other day about being unable to turn party chat on, despite already being in that party and chatting for well over an hour. After leaving the party, starting my own, and inviting
    the players from the previous party, the issue ceased to occur. I'm not sure if this is the same issue everyone else is having, but I theorized it was connection or, possibly, NAT related based on whoever is the party leader.

    I believe a lot of CoD and other FPS players get DDoS'd by opposition teams and angry players getting revenge.
