DDOS on Xbox, assistance please?

If you have the gamer tag of the person you believe DDOS'd you, report it from your console to Xbox and they will investigate and take appropriate actions based on their findings.

Ddosing is a criminal offense, so you should report it to your local law enforcement and your internet provider, as these are the only people that can help. DDOS attacks are aimed at your internet, not Xbox, so Microsoft cannot do anything.

Thanks for reaching out to us for this issue. Sorry to hear that you've gone through this awful experience. As stated by our Ambassador, there is sadly nothing that Microsoft itself can do directly; however, I would recommend that since you received
a message from this person, that (should you feel it be warranted) you may report them via the
Enforcement website and also block or ignore them to avoid further interaction.

on what you can do to stop these sorts of attacks and what to do directly as a precaution now, like contacting your ISP, etc.

Contact your ISP and tell them your connection is being attacked/disrupted by someone on the internet.

They should provide you with a new IP address and hopefully investigate where the attack has come from.

In future, don't join parties or accept game invites from people you don't know online. They won't get your IP address otherwise.

A VPN isn't really needed for a games console.
