DDOS Attacks

Is MS having the same problem as sony. From what iv heard sony has suffered another ddos attack from a group called Lizard Squad. Is MS suffering the same thing cos they are having problems with thier servers?

Everything was running fine last night mate.

 

Fine for me last night and (currently) fine this morning

 

There has been a service alert up for the social aspect of live,like party chat etc. but that's about it.

No problems myself .

 

those idiots took a lot of places offline last night, psn is shut down for the time being and they were trying to bring down Microsoft, they took down the Vatican and they even had a sony execs plane diverted due to a bomb scare, about time these clowns
packed it in.

 

XBL generally appears to be more resilient than PSN. Not that a determined group couldn't bring it down, I'm sure.

 

The extra security checks Microsoft have added to accounts suggests they've had issues with hackers in the last few years. They're not the kind of company that would openly admit that however.

 

If you are referring to the security checks such
as verifying your account using a mobile phone - that isn't because of hacking. That is because of phishing.

 

@CosmicThoughts - it also wouldn't have any bearing on general network security, it's a completely different level.

 

But credit card information wasn't compromised or accounts right?

DDOSING is low level hacking...

I wouldn't even call it hacking to be honest.

The bomb threat is just plain stupidity no doubt the culprit is under 16
