    DDOS Attack


    On June 14th 1:00 am me and my buddy Hydrozity were playing call of duty black ops 2 when someone in gamechat said they were going to hack us their gamertags iNfAm0uZ PJ and ThatDirtyStoner and me and my friend went into a party chat to ignore them and they
    joined before I could change the setting to invite only and then not 20 seconds later our Xbox's froze and then we couldn't connect to Xbox live because it was blocked

    DDOS Attack

    Hello, luxion2100, you should call Microsoft about this issue as it happens a lot on CoD: Black Ops 2. If you have a Dynamic, you can change your IP Address. If you have a Static, you can not change your IP Address. If you don't know what you have, then
    go to (www.whatismyipaddress.com). There should be a button my the back of your router to refresh it. Also, you should avoid and report them from your console.

    Is there any process to report a "boot" to any authorities?

    "Boots" are done via Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, and are illegal in basically all countries.

    Therefore the process to report such an DDoS attack would be to contact your ISP, as they can check their logfiles about the attack.

    Then contact your local police and have them work with the ISP to determine the source of the DDoS attack and take the necessary steps.

    first of all if it was a DDOS attack then you should be complaining at your ISP since your service of internet was denied

    Microsoft cant do anything about that neither can Xbox support...

    go to your ISP file a complaint and make sure they start a investigation

    xbox cant do anything against DDOS attack neither do u have any proof of this so called DDOS attack

    Most ISPs and your router firewal blocks the DDos attacks at a certain level.Theres a verry litle chance that you can be DDos attacked

    Do a five minute modem-off sequential power cycle and your ISP should issue you a new IP addresse. Than any DoS attack will go into the ǽther.
